Association of the Miraculous Medal

It’s time again for one of my favorite Association traditions – our Lady’s annual May Procession – and you are invited! May is the month of our Lady, and so we will crown Mary with beautiful flowers and ask the Queen of Heaven to fill our hearts with the radiant love of her Son Jesus.

Join me, Association staff, and pilgrims from throughout the region on Sunday, May 5, at 1:00 p.m., CT, in person or in spirit,  for this year’s May Procession here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Perryville, Missouri. This will be the second year that our Perryville procession will take place on our newly constructed Rosary Walk, and the beautiful new landscaping is perfect for this celebration! For those of you who want to experience this special day at the Shrine, Sunday Mass is available at 11:00 a.m., CT.

In addition to the procession in Perryville, there will also be one in Montebello, California, if that is more accessible for you. There, at the De Paul Evangelization Center, a bilingual Mass (English and Spanish) and multicultural celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m., PT, followed by the procession and crowning. Fr. Prudencio Rodriguez, C.M., will be the celebrant this year.

Each and every one of us needs prayer and encouragement, and I have witnessed time and again that when our prayers come together as one, they hold immense power. This collective power is the same with our charitable gifts.

Your generous offerings are joined to those of other members, and one by one these gifts multiply to help our Lady’s Association bring hearts to Jesus through Mary. Your contribution today will allow us to continue our Lady’s mission given to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris, France, in the year 1830.

As a way of showing Mary our oneness in her Son, we will assemble beautiful bouquets made from individual flowers from our members around the country, which will be laid at her feet during the ceremony.

I understand that due to distance or hardship, it may be impossible for you to physically join the May Processions in Perryville or Montebello. If this is the case, please send me any intentions you may have and we will pray for your intentions throughout the month. You may also light a Votive Candle for your prayer intentions. No matter where you are, you are being remembered in prayer by our Lady’s Association family! Your generosity will help us continue our mission of bringing Jesus to the world through Mary, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

Thank you for your ongoing support. May God bless you, and may Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal obtain for you God’s infinite grace.

Sincerely in Jesus and Mary,

Fr. Kevin McCracken, C.M.
Spiritual Director
