Association of the Miraculous Medal

When you think of Christmas, what are the first images that come to mind? Do you see an evergreen tree in the window with shining ornaments, decorative lights, and beautifully wrapped gifts underneath? Do you picture a slow burning fireplace and mantel decked with personally decorated stockings, flowing garland, and scented candles? Or perhaps you imagine a carefully constructed nativity scene of our Lord’s birth that someone in your house took great pride in setting up every Christmas.

I picture these images as if they are directly in front of me now, and what great joy they bring! There is one other Christmas image that puts an instant smile on my face. It’s the memory of my mother opening spiritual cards from loved ones who were thinking of our family and praying for God’s blessing in our lives. The fact that these friends and family members were thinking of us always meant so much, and so as a family, we prayed for them just as they were praying for us.

If you would like to create an everlasting Christmas memory for someone you love, I invite you to join our Lady’s Association in continuing one of our most cherished Christmas traditions.

You may request one or several beautifully crafted Christmas cards for you to send as spiritual gifts to relatives and friends, offering them the Father’s love found perfectly in the Nativity of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

The cards will warm the hearts of those who receive them, and grant your recipients a share in an octave of Masses beginning on Christmas Day at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. They will also be remembered in a Mass offered by the Vincentian community each week throughout the coming year.

I pray that Mary will watch over you and your loved ones as we draw closer to Christmas. I also pray that these Christmas cards will be a reminder for you and your loved ones that God’s greatest gift, his only begotten Son Jesus, is with us always and forever.

Thank you for all you do for our Lady’s Association. Please remember all her members in your prayers. We will be praying for you.

Sincerely yours in Jesus and Mary,

Fr. Kevin McCracken, C.M.
Spiritual Director

P.S. Be sure to order your cards now. Orders received after November 20 may not arrive in time for use by Christmas.
