Our office will be closed December 23 – 27 so that the Association’s staff can celebrate Christmas at home with loved ones. However, the beautifully decorated Saint Mary’s of the Barrens Church at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, as well as the Rosary Walk, grotto, and grounds, remain open for your prayerful pilgrimage. The Visitor Center and Gift Shop will be closed on December 24 and 25, but will be open on December 23, 26, and 27.

In honor of Our Blessed Mother’s birthday on Thursday, September 8, we will begin an octave of prayer here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. There’s no better occasion to entrust your intentions to the Mother of God. Maybe your intentions include a remembrance for a loved one’s healing, the soul of a deceased relative, someone’s return to the faith, or you want to offer a prayer of gratitude for favors and blessings received. Mary welcomes your special appeal as a sign of your faith in the goodness of her Son, Jesus. You may also burn a Votive Light in Our Lady’s honor. Its rays will symbolize your spiritual presence at the Shrine.  Read Fr. Kevin’s letter to learn more about the birthday candle being created by thousands of faithful members.

Join AMM's Rosary Octave
The Association’s annual Rosary Octave of Prayer will begin Thursday, October 7, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary (originally known as “Our Lady of Victory”). Pope Leo XIII had a deep devotion to Our Blessed Mother, this feast, and its importance. “This devotion to the Queen of Heaven has never shone forth with such brilliancy as when the Church has seemed to be endangered by heresy … an intolerable moral corruption, or by the attacks of powerful enemies,” he wrote. We do well to entrust to Mary the urgent temporal and spiritual needs of our families and in our world. Please be among AMM members joining us from home to pray one Rosary daily for eight days. You are also encouraged to send your intentions to be remembered during the octave at Our Lady’s Shrine. The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is a wonderful opportunity to burn Votive Lights for your needs, or simply as a gesture of praise and gratitude for blessings and favors Our Lady has already bestowed upon you and your loved ones. God has promised the triumph of life over death and good over evil. We implore Mary, through the most holy Rosary, to lead us to the ultimate victory we seek!
