In April of 2023 the Association of the Miraculous Medal is sponsoring a post-Easter pilgrimage to Lourdes, to Rome, and for those who choose to extend their pilgrimage, to Medjugorje. The basic pilgrimage includes 3 days for us to experience the prayerful atmosphere of the premier Marian shrine where Our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Bernadette 18 times in 1858. We will be able to undertake both group and personal devotions. From Lourdes we will fly to Rome and spend a few days visiting several of the most revered churches and other sacred sites of the Eternal City, as well as some of the "must see" tourist sites. Particularly important for members of Our Lady's Association, we will visit the Basilica of Sant'Andrea delle Fratte where Alphonse Ratisbonne, a French Jew, while he was touring Rome in 1842, received an apparition of Mary. Our Lady appeared to him as she is represented on the Miraculous Medal, which Catholic friends had convinced him to wear. In honor of Mary, Alphonse chose to be baptized as Marie-Alphonse. Pope Gregory XVI declared his immediate conversion to be a miracle. We hope to pray at the shrine in the Basilica dedicated to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and Marie-Alphonse's miraculous conversion. From Rome, those who wish, will travel across the Adriatic Sea to Medjugorje in Herzegovina. Since June 1981, six visionaries, believe that they have received visions of Our Lady, identifying herself as the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace. Millions of people have visited the town and many have had a profound spiritual experience there. In May 2019, Pope Francis authorized officially sponsored Catholic group pilgrimages to Medjugorje. However, the Vatican stated that studies related to the authenticity of the claimed apparitions are still ongoing. As at Lourdes, we will have time to participate in both group and personal devotions while in Medjugorje. Please consider joining us for this Eastertime pilgrimage when we will rejoice with Mary in the glory of her Son's resurrection.

Dear Fellow Pilgrim,

It is my great privilege to invite you to join our spring pilgrimage to France and Switzerland. In 2018, the Vincentians are celebrating their 200th Anniversary of arrival in Perryville, Missouri, and the Association of the Miraculous Medal is celebrating our 100th Anniversary with an inspiring pilgrimage to the lovely Chapel of the Motherhouse of the Daughters of Charity, in Paris, where Our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Catherine Laboure. This beautiful chapel continues to be the center of devotion to our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. We will have ample time to pray in this sacred place during our stay in the City of Light. In Paris, we will also visit the Chapel of the Vincentian Motherhouse where the remains of St. Vincent de Paul are enshrined, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, as well as other sacred and historic sites.

In addition, those who wish will have the option of joining Fr. John Rybolt, C.M., internationally known Vincentian historian and author, and me on a visit of Vincentian Family sites in Paris, including sites associated with St. Vincent, St. Louise de Marillac, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and Blessed Rosalie Rendu. Fr. Rybolt will be with us throughout our pilgrimage helping us to understand and appreciate the Vincentian charism.

Departing Paris, we will visit the Laboure farmhouse where St. Catherine was born, beautiful Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne where St. Vincent founded the first Confraternity of Charity, and Lyon where Blessed Frederic lived as a young boy and where he was married. On our way to Switzerland, we will visit the alpine town of Annecy to pray at the tombs of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane Frances de Chantal who were closely associated with St. Vincent.

Finally, we conclude our pilgrimage in the wonderful city of Geneva.

To request a full color itinerary, call 1.800.264.6279 or

Photos from the Rome Symposium
In celebration of the 400th anniversary of the founding of our Vincentian charism, over 11,000 members of the International Vincentian Family gathered in Rome on October 12 for 4 days of meetings and worship.  The highlight was a Papal Audience on October 14, 2017.   The Pope spoke about our charities being born of the tenderness and compassion of St. Vincent for the poor and marginalized.  Six staff members of the Association of the Miraculous Medal in Perryville, Missouri, were blessed to attend this special event.
