On November 27, 1830, the Blessed Virgin appeared to Saint Catherine Labouré in the image of the Miraculous Medal the young novice was to promote …

With arms outstretched, brilliant rays shone forth from Mary’s fingers. Shimmering words took shape, forming a gilded frame: "O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee." Our Lady spoke: "Have a medal struck after this model. All who wear it will receive great graces; it should be worn around the neck …”

The apparition turned to reveal the back side of the medal: a large "M," interwoven with a cross on a bar. Underneath were two hearts, one encircled with thorns (Jesus), and the other pierced with a sword (Mary). Twelve stars created a shining oval frame.

Annually, AMM invites members to join in prayerful observance of Mary giving the design of the miraculous Medal to Saint Catherine to share with the world. AMM will hold its annual Miraculous Medal Novena of Masses November 18 - 26 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Share your personal prayer intentions here to be placed near Mary’s Shrine Altar throughout the nine days of the novena and on Monday, November 27, the feast of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. You may also request Votive Lights to burn for your petitions.

As you face each day’s joys and struggles, the very purpose of the Miraculous Medal is to help you draw nearer to the love of Jesus through Our Blessed Mother. By the intercession she has promised, God will pour out endless grace and blessings upon his children. Father Clay’s letter shares more, including inspiring testimonials of several AMM members.

Members' Novena

Beginning Saturday, June 10, the Association will celebrate its June Novena of Masses to pray for members and their intentions.

The novena spans three important Church feasts: the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (June 11), the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (June 16), and the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (June 17). It concludes on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18.

You are invited to entrust your needs and those of your loved ones to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal during this very special observance. Your petitions will be placed near Mary’s Altar here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and remembered in the daily Mass and prayers throughout the nine days. You may also burn a Votive Light as a sign of your spiritual presence.

Through Mary’s intercession, may you draw ever closer to the Sacred Heart of her Son.

We invite you to unite with us in offering up this Miraculous Medal Novena Prayer daily from June 10-18.

When our Blessed Mother appeared to young Catherine Labouré in 1830, she foretold the evil and sorrow of the revolutions of 1830 and 1832 in France. The situation back then seemed hopeless, just as it does for so many today. But no situation is hopeless when Mary, the Mother of Jesus, steps in! She gave us the Miraculous Medal which has brought us hope in times of despair. The Association here in Perryville, Missouri, continues Mary’s mission of hope by bringing people to Jesus through Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Allow the Association to pray with you. Send your petitions for remembrance in our annual Miraculous Medal Novena, November 18-26, and request Votive Lights to burn.  Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about how Mary is waiting to hear from you. To help you remember to pray and ask for God’s graces, request your 15-month Miraculous Medal Planner for 2019-2020.
