The Association of the Miraculous Medal spreads devotion to Jesus through Mary by sharing the Miraculous Medal she entrusted to Saint Catherine Labouré nearly 193 years ago. Throughout 2023, we hope you will send us your special intentions for remembrance in our daily Mass and prayers. You may always burn a Votive Light to express praise and gratitude, or in an appeal for ongoing needs in your life. Request free Miraculous Medals at any time — each medal is presented on a beautiful keepsake card with the Miraculous Medal story.

Our Lady keeps you close to her heart at every moment. Placing yourself in her tender and loving care will bring you nearer to God. Know that you remain in our daily prayers.

As Saint Louis de Montfort writes, “In giving ourselves to Jesus through Mary's hands, we imitate God the Father, who gave us his only Son through Mary, and who imparts his graces to us only through Mary. Likewise we imitate God the Son, who by giving us his example for us to follow, inspires us to go to him using the same means he used in coming to us, that is, through Mary. Again, we imitate the Holy Spirit, who bestows his graces and gifts upon us through Mary.”

We will celebrate Our Blessed Mother’s birthday beginning Wednesday, September 8, here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. There’s no better occasion to entrust to Mary all the intentions you hold close to your heart. Maybe it’s a special intention for yourself or a family member, prayers for a deceased relative, a plea for someone’s return to faith, or simply a prayer of gratitude for God’s goodness and Mary’s love in your life. Whatever it is, share your intentions here. We will lift them up to Our Lady throughout the eight days of our octave of prayer. You may also wish to burn a Votive Light in Mary’s honor. Its rays will add to the light and joy of our celebration! Read Fr. Kevin’s letter to learn more about the birthday candle members are joining together to create.

It was the night of July 18, 1830. With these words, Sister Catherine Labouré’s guardian angel announced the first appearance of Mary to the young Daughter of Charity. As we remember this anniversary during our Mass at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal on Sunday, July 18, you are invited to request Mary’s intercession for your special intentions. Your petitions will be placed at the foot of Our Blessed Mother’s Shrine Altar. You may also burn a Votive Light alongside the thousands already lit by fellow AMM members. Did you know that along the Shrine’s outdoor Rosary Walk stands a marble carving of Catherine’s first apparition of Our Lady? This video highlights the statue. It depicts that touching moment when Catherine knelt at Mary’s side in complete love and devotion.

What would you ask of Mary if you found yourself
suddenly kneeling beside her? Ask her now.

Please share your prayer intentions today as we prepare for a very special Assumption Novena of Masses beginning Friday, August 6, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Throughout the nine days, we will “lift each other” toward heaven, praying for one another’s needs through Mary’s promised intercession. The image of the Assumption, so vividly depicted here at the Shrine’s main altar, is a powerful reminder of the reward for our lifetime of faithful perseverance through trials of every sort. When we cling to the Blessed Mother in prayer, we are in a very real way “lifted up” with her along a journey marked by love and surrender to our Lord, the way to eternal life.

This year’s Solemnity of the Assumption Mass begins at 11:00 a.m., CT, and will be live-streamed on AMM’s Facebook page.

You may burn a Votive Light as an additional symbol of your prayerful presence for this joyous feast!

The Association of the Miraculous Medal will begin its annual Pentecost Novena of Masses here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal this Friday, May 14. Please join your AMM family in prayer, adding your intentions alongside theirs. The petitions you share will be entrusted to Our Lady and rest before her Shrine Altar through the Solemnity of Pentecost on May 23. During the novena, say this prayer to the Holy Spirit. You may also request a Votive Light to burn as a visible sign of your loving, prayerful support shining in the lives of those for whom you’re praying.

AMM carries a special gift depicting the Holy Spirit’s advocacy in our lives. The Holy Spirit Silver Cruciform Medal & Chain features an antique silver finish with red enamel accentuating the distinctive Dove centerpiece. Flanked by images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Miraculous Medal, Saint Joseph, and Saint Christopher, this five-way medal also appeals for assistance with: "I am a Catholic – please call a priest" appearing on the reverse. “Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.”

As Pope Francis has counseled, “By loving humbly, serving freely and joyfully, we will offer to the world the true image of God. The Spirit reminds us that we ... grow by giving.”

Thank you for the prayerful support you extend to loved ones through your membership in Mary’s Association. May Our Lady obtain for you, and them, a generous share in the gifts of the Spirit to draw you ever closer to her Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
