“For every believer, and especially for Christian families, the humble dwelling place in Nazareth is an authentic school of the Gospel.” Saint John Paul II, Angelus, December 30, 2001. In Mary, Joseph, and Jesus, Christians possess a model for perfecting their own family. The Holy Family lived in complete surrender to God’s will, persevering in love throughout the greatest of trials. Reciting this short Prayer for the Family daily or weekly (together, when possible) is a faith-filled gesture of your desire to draw closer to one another, and to Our Heavenly Father.

Saint John Paul II said that, “the future of humanity passes by way of the family, and it is therefore indispensable and urgent that every person of good will should endeavor to save and foster the values and requirements of the family.”  As a way to help in this most important endeavor, I invite you to send your family petitions to the Shrine for remembrance. Ask our Lady to intercede with her Son for a family in need. Send our new Family Prayer Remembrance Certificate to the family for whom you are praying. Your care, whether it’s during a joyous phase of life or a difficult time, will be a sign of Mary’s care. Read what Fr. Kevin has to say about the importance of family prayer.

Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal invites us to build strong families.  She wants us to start with our own family, to make it a family of prayer, love, and service. You imitate Mary when you show your love for others, especially when they are in need.  I invite you to send your petitions to the Shrine for remembrance. Ask our Lady to intercede with her Son for a particular family in need.  Send our new Family Prayer Remembrance Certificate to the family for whom you are praying. Your care, whether it’s during a joyous phase of life or a difficult time, will be a sign of Mary’s care.  Read what Fr. Kevin has to say about the importance of family prayer.
