You are invited to join us in spirit for a very special novena beginning January 14 and continuing through January 22 to celebrate the Espousal of Mary to Saint Joseph. Send me your petitions for remembrance throughout the novena as well as on the feast day itself, January 23, and burn Votive Lights as a sign of your prayer. In this novena we ask them to pray for us and our families. Mary and Joseph both took a leap of faith when they said “yes” to become the parents of our Lord, Jesus Christ. They resigned themselves to the will of God and trusted in his wisdom and plan. On the feast of the Espousal of Mary, January 23, all of us are called to our own leap of faith—to abandon our personal desires for those of the Lord. Look to imitate Mary and Joseph who faithfully placed themselves in the hands of God.

You are invited to join the Association’s Octave of Masses, February 11-18, honoring Our Lady of Lourdes. Send us your intentions now to be remembered and burn Votive Lights.  Mary, under her titles of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and Our Lady of Lourdes, is always ready to help her children. So many miracles at the healing pools of Lourdes, France, testify to the fact that Mary intercedes for us! This close connection between Lourdes and the Miraculous Medal is why we celebrate an octave of Masses here at the National Shrine of the Miraculous Medal honoring Our Lady of Lourdes. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about the story of the 70th miracle of Lourdes which occurred in 2008 and was officially declared attributable to Our Lady of Lourdes on February 11, 2018.

Our Blessed Mother was conceived without sin, a fact we celebrate annually on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, December 8. By God’s grace, Mary kept her heart immaculate – free of sin and full of love for God. Here at our Lady’s Shrine, we honor Mary’s holy innocence by celebrating the Immaculate Conception Octave of Masses beginning on Saturday, December 8. Submit your petitions to our Lady’s Shrine today to have them remembered during the eight days of Masses, and request Votive Lights as a sign of your prayer. During each day of the octave, say this prayer to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Saturday, September 8. The Association of the Miraculous Medal has a beautiful tradition of remembering Mary’s birthday each year. Beginning on September 8, and lasting for eight days, an octave of prayer will be offered at our Lady’s Shrine.  Send me your petitions to be remembered here at the Shrine during this special octave of prayer honoring our Blessed Mother and burn Votive Lights for family and friends. Mary loves us beyond our greatest imagination, and so as our heavenly Mother and the Mother of God, her prayer is truly miraculous. When we offer her our united petitions, Jesus hears and answers them. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about Mary’s birthday.

“My child, the good God wishes to charge you with a mission.”  On July 18, 1830, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal spoke these words to Sister Catherine Labouré, a novice of the Daughters of Charity in Paris, France. As we celebrate the 188th anniversary of Mary’s apparition to Saint Catherine, let us remember we, too, are Mary’s children. God wishes to charge us with the same mission of sharing his loving goodness with others. I invite you to send your petitions and burn a Votive Light at our Lady’s Altar, asking our Blessed Mother to obtain God’s graces for you, your family, and the entire world. They will be remembered in the Mass and prayers offered at the Shrine on July 18, the anniversary date.  Thank you for following Saint Catherine’s example and boldly accepting God’s mission given to us by our Lady.

Beginning Monday, August 6, at 8:00 a.m., CT, we will honor our Blessed Mother here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal with a very special Assumption Novena of Masses. On each of these nine days we will celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in devotion to Mary, asking her to obtain for us God’s infinite graces. Please send me any special prayer intentions you have. We will place them at our Lady’s Altar and remember them in the nine Assumption Masses we celebrate, including the Solemnity Mass on August 15. You may also wish to burn a Votive Light at the Shrine as an expression of your desire to honor Mary and seek her intercession. Read Fr. Kevin’s Assumption message to learn more about the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Solemnity of the Assumption provides us with a wonderful opportunity to honor Mary, glorious in heaven, always interceding for us!

Send your petitions and burn Votive Lights at our Lady’s National Shrine here in Perryville, Missouri, for the Mother of Divine Grace Novena, beginning June 12 and lasting nine days. Let our Blessed Mother intercede for you with her loving Son. Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal told Saint Catherine Labouré, “Come to the foot of the altar. Graces will be shed on all, great and little, especially upon those who ask for them.”  Our Lady is the Mother of Divine Grace, and she is inviting you to bring your needs and petitions to the foot of her altar.  I also invite you to say this prayer to our Lady throughout the nine days of this novena.
