Please share your prayer intentions today as we prepare for a very special Assumption Novena of Masses beginning Thursday, August 6, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Throughout the nine days, we will “lift each other” toward heaven, praying for one another’s needs through Mary’s promised intercession. The image of the Assumption, so vividly depicted here at the Shrine’s main altar, is a powerful reminder of the reward for our lifetime of faithful perseverance through trials of every sort. When we cling to the Blessed Mother in prayer, we are in a very real way “lifted up” with her along a journey marked by love and surrender to our Lord, the way to eternal life.

This year’s Solemnity of the Assumption Mass begins at 11:00 a.m., CT, and will be live-streamed on AMM’s Facebook page.

You may burn a Votive Light as an additional symbol of your prayerful presence for this joyous feast!

This issue will lift your spirits with more stories of faith and family! You’ll read some lesser-known tales of Saint Catherine Labouré’s family who endured their share of joys and sorrows, like every family. Brother Tom Juneman, C.M., reflects on the diversity of family members’ varying lifestyles, beliefs, and challenges, reminding us that our family and home are rooted in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; God’s love remains at the center of family life. Don’t miss the sweet photo of Marie Luebbert celebrating her 100th birthday; Marie’s faith and family helped her through many life trials. Don’s article recalls a prayerful encounter with a family in the Shrine Church.

There’s plenty more to enjoy in the Summer Bulletin. As always, we would love to hear your inspiring story of faith and family to share with fellow AMM members. Call or write us anytime. A safe and happy summer to you and yours!

In this “Year of Saint Joseph,” we honor all loving fathers who model the trust, humility, perseverance, and loving commitment of this most chaste spouse of Mary. Joseph was a hardworking provider for the Holy Family. Whether your father is living or deceased, you can offer the loving gift of prayer by sharing your intentions here.

Also, join us in praying this prayer for your own father and all the “father figures” in your life.
