Association of the Miraculous Medal
News from the Association
We will celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16.We think of the strength of a father, his guiding hand, his wisdom, his help, and most importantly his love. God the Father gave us his only Son, Jesus Christ, so that we might be saved through him. Join us in praying for dads, granddads, godfathers, step-fathers, foster fathers, and all men shouldering the awesome responsibility of fatherhood. Send me the names of your father figures, along with your special prayer intentions to be included in our Mass on Father’s Day here at our Lady’s National Shrine on June 16. As a sign of your prayerful devotion, you can also burn a Votive Light in their honor or memory. Your loved ones and intentions will also be remembered throughout the month of June. And don't forget to request our new Father's Day card to share with the Fathers in your life!

There is no disability, sickness, or injury that God cannot cure, and there is no loneliness, depression, or addiction stronger than his loving compassion and mercy. Use our new Healing Remembrance Card to bring comfort and strength to someone suffering from addiction, physical, spiritual, or emotional pain. You may also burn a Votive Light here at our Lady’s Shrine for your loved one. Our Lady promised Saint Catherine Labouré that she would obtain God’s grace for all who seek her intercession. By using the Healing Remembrance Card, you will be asking Mary to intercede during your loved one’s time of suffering to bring her Son’s miraculous healing. Read more about God’s grace in Fr. Kevin’s letter.

Enduring life’s many trials and tribulations can feel so very overwhelming. Worries over finances, physical illness, work stress, family struggles, and more, threaten our faith and steal our joy. Use our Blessed Oil as a reminder to turn your thoughts and prayers to Jesus and Mary. For an offering of $17 or more, we will send you a hand-packaged, half ounce bottle of oil which has been blessed here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and touched to a first-class relic of Saint Catherine Labouré. Say this prayer to our Lady when using this oil on yourself, your children, grandchildren, and anyone else in need of Mary’s motherly care and God’s healing love.

To celebrate this memorial, you are invited to send your special intentions to be remembered here at our Lady’s Shrine on June 10, as well as in the Pentecost Octave of Masses, June 9 – 16. You are also invited to burn a Votive Light for your intentions. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about the Memorial of Mary, Mary of the Church, and request your easel of our Blessed Mother.

On May 18, Fr. Kevin McCracken, CM, and a group of pilgrims will begin the Association’s pilgrimage of prayer and remembrance to France. Highlights of the journey will be the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Paris, the Basilica of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, the beaches at Normandy, and the grotto at Lourdes. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about this spiritual journey. We hope you will join us in spirit and prayer on this journey of faith by sending your petitions to be remembered in the Masses offered during the pilgrimage. In commemoration of this pilgrimage, we are offering three new gifts— a Pink Imitation Murano Glass Bead Rosary, a Black Wood Bead Rosary, and a Pink Imitation Murano Glass Bead Chaplet.  All gifts requested will be held at our office until after the pilgrimage so they can be blessed with water from Lourdes. Gifts will then be mailed to you.

Follow the pilgrimage itinerary and mass schedule and recite the prayer to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal each day of the pilgrimage. You can also follow Fr. Kevin and the other pilgrims each day of their pilgrimage on our homepage, Facebook, or Twitter.

Mother's Day Remembrance
As Mother’s Day approaches, reflect on Mary’s maternal care and her promise to obtain the blessings of her Son Jesus for all who ask. Send me your petitions and the names of your loved ones to be remembered here at the Shrine. The Association has a new Mother’s Day card which includes a prayer for the one who receives it, a remembrance in the Association’s Mass on Mother’s Day, May 12, and throughout the month of May. Read Fr. Kevin’s inspiring Mother’s Day message about Saint Catherine Labouré, the loss of her earthly mother, and her spiritual relationship with our Blessed Mother.

Please send me your intentions for our Annunciation Octave of Masses and request Votive Lights to burn at our Lady’s Shrine. The octave begins Monday, March 25, and we want to remember you and your prayer requests throughout the eight days. On the feast of the Annunciation, March 25, the Church celebrates Mary’s “yes” to God to become the Mother of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We hope you will come, in person or in spirit, to our Lady’s Shrine in prayer during our Annunciation Octave of Masses, and give your “yes” to God, just as Mary did.

Save the Date for the Association’s annual May Procession here on the shrine grounds Sunday, May 5, 2019. This year the procession will once again begin at 1:00 p.m., CT, instead of 3:30. We will process on the new Rosary Walk to the grotto where Mary will be crowned with a wreath of flowers. We hope you can join us in person for this spiritual event that acknowledges our dependence on God’s grace and Mary’s intercession. As a way to join us in our prayers, we would like for you to send us your intentions to be carried in the May Procession. For more details about the annual May Procession, read Fr. Kevin’s letter.

“We proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection…” These words powerfully profess our belief in Christ’s saving work. By his resurrection, Jesus returned humanity to the grace of participating forever in his glory. Read Fr. Kevin’s message about proclaiming the good news of our belief in life over death. Send me your petitions to be remembered here at the Shrine in our Easter Octave of Masses beginning on Easter Sunday and concluding on Divine Mercy Sunday. Burn Votive Lights for family and friends. To help you announce the Easter blessings promised to us by Jesus, send one of our new Easter cards to someone you love. When you do so, you will not only be sharing the good news of Jesus’ promise to us, but you will also be offering your loved one a spiritual remembrance in our Easter Octave of Masses.
