Association of the Miraculous Medal

Our Lady awaits you to turn to her in confidence. She is your sign of hope, your help in adversity, and your most loving Mother at every moment.

I hope you will answer this special invitation to draw closer to her and her Son during November’s special novena of Masses that will be held here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

You are welcome to join us in person here in Perryville. Or, take part in spirit by returning your personal prayer intentions in the next few days. We’ll place your petitions near the National Shrine Altar and pray for your intentions throughout the nine days of the novena, and at the Mass on the  feast day of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, November 27.

I also invite you to burn a Votive Light for your intentions. Your Votive Light will burn inside our Votive Light Sanctuary as a faith-filled symbol of your prayers.

From the moment the first Miraculous Medals were distributed in 1832 until our own day, countless people have reported grace-filled blessings received through Mary’s intercession associated with the medal, and even favors they consider “miraculous.”

Here are just a few recent stories shared by members of the Association of the Miraculous Medal:

“Dear Father, I have not always lived on the straight and narrow. Some years back following a violent attack, I received the last rites as I nearly died. I had a Miraculous Medal my mom had given me and I was wearing the brown scapular which I always wear. I’m convinced that if I had not had the medal and scapular on, I would have died. Nine months later, feeling alone and in despair, I contemplated the terrible act of ending my life. Once again, the ever blessed and glorious Virgin Mary interceded for me; I was not alone. When everyone else had given up on me, Mary had not. I will be forever grateful.”

“Dear Father, thank you so much for praying for my family. I am a new Catholic, and thanks to the Association of the Miraculous Medal, I finally came into the Church. Also, after years of praying and with the help of the Holy Spirit, my son entered the Church at Easter. I am so grateful my prayers have been answered!”

“Dear Father, I suffer from an incurable type of cancer. I wear my Miraculous Medal all the time, and pray to Mary for her help every day. My most recent MRI indicated that my condition had improved. My doctors seem surprised, and I am encouraged. I feel that through Mary's intercession, I can continue to make progress. My goal is to see my cancer actually go into remission, and if anybody could make it happen, it would be Our Blessed Virgin.”

Are you grateful to Our Lady? Are there loved ones in need of physical healing or peace in their lives? Have family members left the Church? The very purpose of the Miraculous Medal is to help you draw nearer to her Son’s love and perfect will as you face the joys and struggles of each day. So with all confidence and trust, send your pleas for help for yourself and your loved ones, and prayers of gratitude to be included in this year’s Miraculous Medal Novena of Masses. God’s endless grace and mercy will be poured out upon you and your loved ones through Our Blessed Mother’s intercession.

This is Mary’s promise. She will keep it!

AMM is honored to be with you along your life’s journey. We remember you and your intentions in prayer, and I thank you for praying for me and for all fellow AMM members, living and deceased. May Our Lady keep us united in faith until we arrive home, where at last we will rest safe and sound, forever in the loving arms of Jesus.

Sincerely yours in Mary,

Fr. Kevin McCracken, C.M.
