Member_Services_Representative - Bilingual

The Member Services Representative – Bilingual is responsible for providing assistance to Spanish and English speaking members (both phone and correspondence) and maintaining various computerized records of communication with the members.


Must be both bilingual and bicultural, understand both English and Spanish languages (fluent in both) as well as have experience with Spanish/Mexican/Hispanic cultural traditions.

Must have a passion and an understanding of Catholic Tradition and spirituality, with a particular belief in, and support of, devotion to the Blessed Mother.

Must demonstrate effective use of basic member relations skills. Must demonstrate proper use of grammar and the ability to compose letters as well as speak correctly and politely in phone conversations.

Must be able to work effectively as a team member. The Member Services Representative – Bilingual must have a personal concern for our members and compassion for them and their problems. Must be able to exercise independent judgment, be a self-starter.

Must have/acquire a good working knowledge of technology (Word, Excel, etc.) and be willing to learn the Association’s database. Must know how to effectively use a personal computer.

Must work well as a team member and be able to communicate with members of the department and other Association staff and management.


1. Speaks with English & Spanish language members by phone and assists with member inquiries and responds to member questions;

2. Acknowledges all types of mail, whether postal or electronic, in a timely manner on a personal computer, prepares letters for mailing and puts them in the proper place so they can be mailed.

3. Reviews Spanish donor reply images using Association’s QCB software and categorizes them for accurate processing and acknowledgment.

4. Uses Association software to maintain information about members and their needs which may include: entering transactions and adding or updating information pertaining to the member’s record. This also includes entering post-transactions for memberships, phone numbers, email addresses, and birthday information.

5. Researches member records and past correspondence in order to decide how to fulfill member requests;

6. Oversees that the Para and WPA letters are updated/maintained as needed for use by the Member Services Bilingual Team.

7. Works with the Digital Marketing Coordinator to send out Spanish emails to the Spanish speaking members. Manages Spanish social media content including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter as needed.

8.8 Works closely with the Member Services Team Leader, Hispanic Program Manager and the Spanish language Associate Spiritual Director to translate messages, letters, and e-mails into specified languages maintaining message content, context, and cultural nuances as needed;

9. Adds creative ideas, proofreads, edits, and revises translated materials as needed;

10. Conducts tours of the Shrine, Shrine Church, and the seminary grounds;

11. As time permits, provides back-up support to the Member Services team members;

12. Performs other duties as assigned.
