Association of the Miraculous Medal

Dear Friend,

There’s a theory in athletics that if you practice like it’s game day, then on that day, you will fully enjoy playing the game. This should be our approach to spiritual victory as well.

If we live each day on earth as if it’s our first day in heaven, when we pass from this life, we will enjoy eternity with our Lord!

Athletes train at least a little every day, but there are certain seasons when they exercise with greater intensity and focus. This must also be the case in our growth as Christian disciples, and the season of increased devotion is Lent.

Think of these forty days of Lent as a spiritual boot camp designed to strengthen your muscles of prayer, penance, and almsgiving. To support you throughout this journey, you are in our prayers here at our Lady’s National Shrine.

The Association of the Miraculous Medal in Perryville, Missouri, wants to help you strengthen these spiritual muscles. Our mission is to bring hearts to Jesus through the maternal intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary. We do this by promoting devotion to our Lady and her Miraculous Medal. Send your intentions to our Lady’s Association so we can remember them in our prayers and Masses during Lent.

I invite you to prayerfully consider a small financial sacrifice that will make a very big difference in the lives of others. If you set aside just $1 each day of Lent, you will be able to send $40 for our Lady’s work here at her National Shrine.

Your support will help us reach thousands across the country who hunger and thirst for God’s fatherly love and Mary’s motherly concern.

Thank you for your prayers, penance, and almsgiving throughout this Lent. Your focused spiritual training will not only benefit you and your special intentions, but it will make the world a better place.

May God bless you, and may our Lady of the Miraculous Medal obtain for you the graces you so prayerfully seek.

Sincerely yours in Mary,

Fr. Kevin McCracken, C.M.
Spiritual Director

P.S. You can also request a Votive Light at our Lady's Shrine for your intentions.
