Association of the Miraculous Medal

Each year around this time, we offer you a card available here to share with a loved one in need of prayer and God’s healing love.

As in previous years, this card may be requested and presented to anyone carrying the cross of suffering, be it emotional, physical, psychological, or spiritual.

As you well know, there is an epidemic of substance abuse in our country that is ravaging families of every race and socioeconomic class.

Those suffering from this addiction will occasionally experience remission, but even then, they hardly go a day without the torturous craving that constantly haunts them. As you read the following testimony from a member in Texas, please pray with me for others going through a similar nightmare.

Dear Father,
I recently went on a 6-month cocaine binge. I decided to try and stay clean but knew I couldn’t do it on my own. I am new to Catholicism and studied in RCIA for a year prior to my binge. I reached out to Mary and began to pray the rosary and Hail Mary whenever I felt the pangs of addiction coming on. Mary has interceded and taken away my desire to use drugs. I cannot express the gratitude and surprise that I feel. I have struggled with addiction my whole life and even in moments of short term sobriety I have never been able to overcome that constant pull towards using that every addict is plagued with--until now. It’s still early in my recovery but to wake up without that constant craving is a true gift and miracle. I owe it to God and Mary.

There is no disability, sickness, or injury that our Lord cannot cure, and there is no loneliness, depression, or addiction stronger than God’s loving compassion and mercy.

Christ worked miracles of healing during his life on earth, and he continues working miracles of healing now, especially through the intercession of his and our Blessed Mother Mary.

Our Lady promised Saint Catherine Labouré that she would obtain God’s grace for all who seek her intercession. I invite you to use this Healing Remembrance Card to bring comfort to someone in need. Whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual healing your loved one requires, pray for him or her, and let this card show how much you care.

As long as there is need for healing, we will join you in prayer and remember your special intentions in our Masses here at our Lady’s Shrine.

You may also burn a Votive Light here at our Lady’s Shrine and request more Healing Remembrance Cards.

Any offering you send will promote devotion to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and support the ministries of the Vincentian community to the poor and downtrodden. You will help show the world that our Lady makes the impossible possible!

May our Lady protect you and your loved ones. May her intercession gain for you the answer to your prayers as you place your intentions at her altar. And may the recipient of your Healing Remembrance Card experience the healing touch of our Lord Jesus.

Sincerely yours in our Lady,

Fr. Kevin McCracken, C.M.
