The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Sunday, September 8. The Association of the Miraculous Medal has a beautiful tradition of remembering Mary’s birthday each year. Beginning on September 8, and lasting for eight days, an octave of prayer will be offered at our Lady’s Shrine.  Send me your petitions to be remembered here at the Shrine during this special octave of prayer honoring our Blessed Mother and burn Votive Lights for family and friends. Mary loves us beyond our greatest imagination, and so as our heavenly Mother and the Mother of God, her prayer is truly miraculous.  When we offer her our united petitions, Jesus hears and answers them. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about Mary’s birthday.

We shed teardrops in thanksgiving for a blessing received, in joy for a special accomplishment, or in sorrow because of illness or the death of a loved one.  Our Blessed Mother experienced both the heights of joy and the depths of sorrow. She wants to wipe away our tears and comfort us as she comforted Jesus. We invite you to join us during the Our Lady of Sorrows Novena of Masses, beginning on September 6, in preparation for the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows on September 15.  We will prayerfully remember your special intentions at our Lady’s Shrine. You may also wish to burn a Votive Light at the Shrine. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about how to offer our intentions to Mary. Request one or both of our special gifts: our new Light Blue Teardrop Rosary and our new Teardrop Miraculous Medal and Chain that have been blessed here at our Lady’s Shrine.

Last year, Pope Francis instituted a new Marian feast by designating the Monday after Pentecost as, the Memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church. To celebrate this memorial, you are invited to send your special intentions to be remembered here at our Lady’s Shrine on June 10, as well as in the Pentecost Octave of Masses, June 9 – 16. You are also invited to burn a Votive Light for your intentions. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about the Memorial of Mary, Mary of the Church, and request your easel of our Blessed Mother.

You are invited to join us in spirit for a very special novena beginning January 14 and continuing through January 22 to celebrate the Espousal of Mary to Saint Joseph. Send me your petitions for remembrance throughout the novena as well as on the feast day itself, January 23, and burn Votive Lights as a sign of your prayer. In this novena we ask them to pray for us and our families. Mary and Joseph both took a leap of faith when they said “yes” to become the parents of our Lord, Jesus Christ. They resigned themselves to the will of God and trusted in his wisdom and plan. On the feast of the Espousal of Mary, January 23, all of us are called to our own leap of faith—to abandon our personal desires for those of the Lord. Look to imitate Mary and Joseph who faithfully placed themselves in the hands of God.

Our Blessed Mother was conceived without sin, a fact we celebrate annually on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, December 8. By God’s grace, Mary kept her heart immaculate – free of sin and full of love for God. Here at our Lady’s Shrine, we honor Mary’s holy innocence by celebrating the Immaculate Conception Octave of Masses beginning on Saturday, December 8. Submit your petitions to our Lady’s Shrine today to have them remembered during the eight days of Masses, and request Votive Lights as a sign of your prayer. During each day of the octave, say this prayer to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.

Beginning Monday, August 6, at 8:00 a.m., CT, we will honor our Blessed Mother here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal with a very special Assumption Novena of Masses. On each of these nine days we will celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in devotion to Mary, asking her to obtain for us God’s infinite graces. Please send me any special prayer intentions you have. We will place them at our Lady’s Altar and remember them in the nine Assumption Masses we celebrate, including the Solemnity Mass on August 15. You may also wish to burn a Votive Light at the Shrine as an expression of your desire to honor Mary and seek her intercession. Read Fr. Kevin’s Assumption message to learn more about the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Solemnity of the Assumption provides us with a wonderful opportunity to honor Mary, glorious in heaven, always interceding for us!

On May 14, Fr. Kevin McCracken, CM, and a group of pilgrims will begin the Association’s pilgrimage to France and Switzerland in celebration of the Association’s 100th anniversary and the Vincentian charism’s 400th anniversary. The pilgrims will visit the chapel of our Lady’s apparition to Saint Catherine Labouré on rue du Bac in Paris in the year 1830. The pilgrims will also visit and celebrate Mass at the Chapel of the Vincentian Motherhouse where the remains of the Vincentian founder, Saint Vincent de Paul, are enshrined. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about this spiritual journey. We hope you will join us in spirit and prayer on this journey of faith by sending your petitions to be remembered in the Masses offered during the pilgrimage. In commemoration of this pilgrimage, request the Sterling Silver Miraculous Medal and chain, the Fancy Leaf Miraculous Medal and chain, or the Deluxe Paris Wood Rosary.  All gifts requested will be taken on the pilgrimage and blessed at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Paris, France. Gifts will then be mailed to you upon return from the pilgrimage.

Follow the pilgrimage itinerary, and recite the prayer to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal each day of the pilgrimage. You can also follow Fr. Kevin and the other pilgrims each day of their pilgrimage on our homepage, Facebook, or Twitter.
