Association of the Miraculous Medal

As testimonies to the generosity of God's love in answer to prayers offered through our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the Association receives thousands of letters. In that spirit of gratitude to God, the Association publishes edited sections of some letters.

The first letter is from Maryland.

Dear Father,

Many years ago, when I had my first child at St. Agnes Hospital, a nun asked if she could pin a Miraculous Medal on my son, and gave me one to wear. This was years before we converted to the Catholic faith. I believe Mother Mary helped us along our journey. When I converted, I discovered that, as a newborn infant, I had been baptized at the same hospital, as they didn't expect me to live. My dad passed when I was only 17 months and my mother left me with other family to raise me so they were unaware of my baptism. My dear Mother Mary kept me close under her mantle all those years. I will be forever grateful for her love and the blessings I received.’s intercession.

The second letter is from California.

Dear Father,

I had a large Miraculous Medal that I gave to a neighbor whose daughter was dying. Not long after this I was in a car accident. I didn’t have serious injuries, but I was suffering with some pain. How I wished I hadn’t given my Miraculous Medal away. In the next day or so I received a medal from your Association. My prayers to have another medal were answered! I wore the medal all the time. I was having some health issues and a doctor I visited, who didn’t know me well, saw my medal and told me never to take it off. I thought this was odd. I then had an appointment with an Irish doctor, who said, “Oh Mary conceived without sin…,” when he saw my medal. I was so amazed by this. I will never take off Mary’s Miraculous Medal.
