2008 MAY PROCESSION

May Procession
May 4—at 3:30 PM |
The annual outdoor May Procession
at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal
is always at 3:30 in the afternoon on the first Sunday
of May. This year it was May 4.
The May Crowning took place at
the outdoor grotto on the shrine grounds.

| During the procession, all join in the rosary. The First
Communicants of the local parish carried silk roses and the
Confirmation class carried petitions to place at Mary's feet.
All pray and sang traditional Marian hymns. The statue of
Mary was crowned with flowers. |

Regular Events at the Shrine |
| The Shrine Choir members at the Shrine Church is a diverse
group of college students, teachers, and other lovers of
good liturgical music. Over half of our choristers are students
or teachers of music and come from surrounding colleges.(All events will be in the Shrine Church) |
| Every Sunday Mass is at 11:00 AM |

| Saint Mary's of the Barrens Church is located at St. Mary's Seminary
on T Road (St. Joseph Street) near the intersection of Highway 51
(bypass). |

| An exciting new youth and young adult faith
opportunity is being held at the Shrine! It is called VINCENTIAN
MARIAN YOUTH (VMY)—an international association
of young people requested by the Blessed Mother herself during
the apparition to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830. |
| Faith Expression is at 6:00 p.m. in the Church |
On the second Sunday
of every month the Vincentian Marian Youth (VMY) come together to celebrate
their commitment
to Christ through Faith Expression and Eucharist Mass. |
| Eucharist Mass is at 7:00 p.m. in the Church |
The Church of the Assumption on the grounds of Saint
Mary's Seminary in Perryville, MO is the site for the gathering of Vincentian
Marian Youth. It is also called the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal,

YOUTH
ADORING CHRIST (YAC)
Join them on
the third Thursday of each month (except
for December, when it will be held on December 27th) The
music is awesome and the peace is overwhelming! Eucharistic
Adoration will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Shrine
Church. Prayer teams are available after Adoration.

is offered during the hour. |
