The 2007 May Procession Information
The annual outdoor May Procession at the National Shrine of
Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal is always at 3:30 in the afternoon
on the first Sunday of May. This year it is May 6. Weather
permitting, the May Crowning takes place at the outdoor grotto
on the shrine grounds.
These events honoring Mary can be beautiful celebrations of spring and a good time to renew friendships. The procession will form in front of the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the church at Saint Mary's Seminary, and will proceed in prayer and song to the grotto. During the procession to the grotto, the rosary is recited. At the grotto, there will be the traditional Marian hymns, the May crowning, and a prayer service. (Vans will be available for the people unable to walk in the procession). For over 100 years believers have been coming from near and far to join in the rich tradition of this devotion.
If you cannot be here in person,
be sure to join us in spirit.
