Dear Father,
When I played high school and college sports, my mother would pin a Miraculous Medal inside my uniform to make sure I was not injured.
She started doing this after I had severely sprained my ankle during an important game. After she pinned a Miraculous Medal inside my uniform, I played another seven years of sports year round without an injury.
After I finished college and sports, I was involved in a very serious car wreck.
It was one day when I was not wearing my Miraculous Medal due to being in a rush to get dressed and on my way.
I fractured my pelvis in five places and was in a coma for a week. I believe that I was not being fully protected from harm.
I know Jesus was with me, but I was also living in sin, and although I was saved from death, the accident only showed me God was not finished with me yet.
I do not know what God wants me to do with the rest of my life, but through prayer and faith, I have been able to serve as a caregiver for my mother until her death last year, and am now serving as a caregiver for my brother who suffers from cerebral palsy.
I have been praying and have received a call to return to Mary to deepen my faith. I have also survived three surgeries in the last two years.
God and Mary are never far from my thoughts and prayers.
I confidently know that Mary is protecting me and that Jesus has a plan for me. I do not know what it is, although I am listening to his words and praying the rosary for people in need.
