Dear Father,
Some years ago, a friend urged me to come to the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal with her and a few others from our office.
We went on a Monday after work and I carpooled with one of the other women who seemed very nice, but I never had a chance to chat with her for more than a few minutes. From our brief conversation, it seemed we were on the same path, praying for a baby.
Over time, we became very close friends. So much so, that with every fertility treatment and failed cycle, we became even closer.
After about two years of trying, and a miscarriage, my husband went off the deep end. He told me he didn't love me and couldn't stand the thought of being a parent anymore. He moved out and I became even closer to my friend.
As I was dealing with my broken marriage, my friend discovered wonderful news—after many, many treatments, she became pregnant naturally.
She was blessed with a beautiful daughter! Then, my life started to get better slowly. I began dating a close friend and we quickly fell in love.
We always talked about children, but I honestly didn't believe I could conceive. After having my previous marriage annulled, we married and I got pregnant, but lost the baby due to a miscarriage.
About six months later, I met up with my friend and she told me, miraculously, she was pregnant again—naturally! I was so happy for her. We prayed for a safe delivery for her and I continued to pray for my own baby, if it was God's will.
I took my husband to the Shrine and we both prayed for a happy marriage. I left it in Mary's hands and was confident that what was meant to be, would be.
Amazingly, just a few weeks after finding out about my friend's miracle and just two weeks after our visit to the Shrine, I also found out I was pregnant.
I have a beautiful, healthy son and so does my friend. All through this journey, I prayed the Miraculous Medal prayer. At first, for a baby, then, for the grace and strength to handle whatever was meant to be for me.
I am so thankful and grateful for Mary and her divine intercession. She gave me the strength to accept my life and faith to believe that God would have the best plan for me.
Thank you, Mary!
