This letter is via email.
Dear Father,
This thank-you is long overdue, mostly because I wasn’t aware that your web site even existed until one week ago. About 16 years ago, I moved all the way across the country to aid in the care of my aging mother, leaving a very secure teaching job in the process.
I know this was the right thing to do because I had promised my father on his death-bed that my mother would never go into a nursing home as long as I was alive.
I was very apprehensive. I went to a Catholic supply store to buy a Miraculous Medal and obviously continued to pray about my decision.
The job market I ended up in was, and still is, extremely competitive. There are at least 1,100 equally qualified professionals holding the same teaching credentials living in the area.
I’m sure through the strong faith of my mother and the power of the Immaculate Heart of Jesus and our Lady’s intercession that I landed a permanent teaching job at a Catholic school where I have been working for the last 16 years.
It may be 16 years later, but as I said, I didn’t know your web site existed until a week ago.
During this period, I also underwent two cataract operations to replace the lenses on both eyes. I see perfectly now without the need for glasses or anything else.
I continue to wear my Miraculous Medal, have given many medals away to my students over the years, and help the Association spread devotion to our Lady whenever I can.
