This letter is via email.

Dear Father,

My thanks to our Lady. I have been looking for a job for quite a while. I placed all my trust in heaven. And somewhere I found the strength not to doubt that our Lord and his Mother were watching over me.

Even when those around me were doubtful about my situation, I kept praying and believing that I would find a good job. I kept my mouth shut and filled my mind with faith.

I kept thinking that before Lent was over God would find me a good job. I devoted myself to the Sacred Heart of Our Lord and kept up a novena to our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, and prayed for the intercession of Saint Joseph and my patron saints.

I have been on several job interviews recently, and on Holy Thursday I started my first day at a really good company.

When I talked to my priest last week about something that was weighing heavily on my heart, an incident that happened in my past, he said something that has stuck in my mind all week.

He said that sometimes, because of guilt or lack of confidence, we keep ourselves in the Good Fridays of our lives, but God doesn’t want that. He wants us to walk into the Easter Sunday of our lives!

For the first time in a long time, I really believed that with heaven’s help I am finally moving toward an Easter Sunday in my life.
