January 5, 2009

The first letter is from Missouri.

Dear Father,

My son was driving his pickup truck with my husband as his passenger. While crossing a small bridge on a two-lane road he hit black ice that he didn’t know was there. He lost control of the truck and it rolled down a 20-foot embankment.

Both were pinned in the truck and the emergency crews had to cut off the top of the truck to get them out. My son wasn’t hurt, but my husband’s chest was injured. While at the hospital for x-rays, they found a mass on his right kidney that turned out to be cancerous. He had no symptoms of anything being wrong. My husband had surgery soon after and is now doing fine.

They were both wearing their Miraculous Medals, and my son had another one in his truck. I’ve prayed many prayers of thanksgiving to our Lady for keeping them both safe.

The second letter is from Maryland.

Dear Father,

Would you please offer some prayers of thanksgiving for me at our Lady’s Shrine?

I have been praying for a long time that my son would be called back to work.

After being laid off for 18 months, he has finally been called back into work.  I am so thankful and happy because he has been so depressed, and now he is on cloud nine.

          Thanks again.
