December 29, 2008

This letter is from Nebraska.

Dear Father,

This letter is a bit overdue. About 15 years ago I had Votive Lights burned and requested prayers at our Lady’s Shrine for my sister.

I sent her a Votive Light card from the Association. I was concerned about her reaction to the card, for you see she had rejected her Catholic faith as a teen, and had been a member of a number of different churches over the intervening years. She was in her second marriage and having difficulties.

She called to thank me for the prayers and began asking questions about the Catholic faith. Later I was able to provide her with some literature about the Catholic faith.

To make a long story short, her marriage did not survive. However, she did return to her Catholic faith. She also moved back home. She, her daughter, and my mother live together now. My mother is able to stay in her home thanks to my sister.

She is a practicing Catholic, active in Cursillo, and is a witness to many who are struggling with their faith.

She is the evangelical witness in our family through study and reading. She is a defender of our faith to my other siblings who have left the Church. And as I said she is a comfort to our mother who never stopped praying.

I believe in miracles, and I believe our mother Mary is still working on my family. Now I add my own adult children to her protection.

I thank the Virgin Mary for touching my sister’s heart and leading her back to the Lord’s embrace.

May God continue to bless you and the Association in your work.

I am unable to wear a Miraculous Medal due to skin allergies, so I carry one in my purse wherever I go.

Share your story of Mary's intercession for you .
