The first letter is from Minnesota.
Dear Father,
I am writing in thanksgiving for a miracle that happened to our family on August 1, 2007. As you know, the Interstate 35W Bridge collapsed into the Mississippi River that day.
My grandson had been to our home to drop off their dogs to watch since he and his family were going to be out of town for the next few days.
As he was leaving, I asked him if he had his Miraculous Medal with him. He replied, “Grandma, I have it in my billfold.” I said, “Good,” and gave him another one to put in his car for their trip to Chicago.
They were headed to the Twins baseball game and then driving to Chicago after the game. Only minutes after they crossed the Interstate 35W Bridge, it collapsed injuring and killing many.
I thank the Blessed Virgin for guiding them safely over the bridge and saving their lives.
The second letter is from Ohio.
Dear Father,
I wanted to write to thank you for the Mother’s and Father’s Day prayers and Masses. I had you pray for my sister during the Mother’s Day Mass and light a Votive light for her.
Through these prayers, through our Blessed Mother and Saint Anthony, my sister, who had been looking for full-time employment to help support her family, has accepted a job as a secretary in a chapel attached to a school.
She feels this is a miracle and is so grateful. This is a very big break for her. I want to thank our Blessed Mother for being by her side. I think this job will not only help her family, but her own self-esteem.
A friend and I prayed the Miraculous Medal Novena for one another and I believe Mary helped in two ways—my friend was able to leave a difficult relationship, and I discovered things I need to work on in my therapy for my depression. I feel my issues are “out in the light” now.
