Dear Father,

One night in May of this year, something deep inside me told me to pray 10 Hail Mary’s before going to bed. At 2:46 in the morning, I was awakened to the blare of my burglar/fire alarm.  It had been sounding for 15 minutes before I heard it.

When I finally got up to check it, I noticed smoke coming from a ceiling vent. Calmly (I’m not a calm person), I put on my shoes, took my bag, and walked out—not even an ash touched me.

The house was completely engulfed in smoke by then, and was soon completely ablaze. It is gone, a total loss.
I truly believe that had I not listened to my inner voice and prayed those 10 Hail Mary’s, I would not be here today. Some divine intervention took me from that inferno.

The second letter is from Montana.

Dear Father,

I just want to tell you about the Miraculous Medal working in my life. I have a teenage daughter who is very troubled and possibly mentally unstable. She has fits of violence and outbursts of hatred, profanity, and anger. She has destroyed property and hurt herself.

Last year, I placed a Miraculous Medal on the frame above her bedroom door—she had rejected my faith entirely and would not have listened to me if I asked her to wear it. So instead, without her knowing it, I placed the medal above her door so at least she would walk under it many times a day.

Last week, she told me spontaneously that she wanted to get better. At that moment, I saw that she was wearing the medal! I guess she found it by herself and put it on.

We are a long way from healing, but I am so deeply touched that Mary is with her.

I am so surprised that she found the medal and that she would have put it on—that is so unlike my oppositional, defiant child. Now that Mary is near her, please pray for us as you have so generously done in the past.
