The second letter is from Nebraska.
Dear Father,
I have a short story to tell you of how our Lady’s medal saved my life.
My husband and I always keep a Miraculous Medal in our car. Unfortunately, we don’t have too much luck wearing the medal around our necks on chains. So I’ve resorted to carrying mine in my pants pocket, and as you might imagine, they frequently fall out and get lost.
On a recent trip, we decided one evening to walk to a restaurant near our motel. Before we left, I was debating about bringing my medal, as I was afraid I would lose it. But then I found a nearly empty makeup kit, placed the medal in it, and put it in my pocket. I felt there was less chance that way of it falling out without my knowledge.
We were walking along a frontage road, and were almost to the restaurant, when suddenly, a car roared past us. I was walking on the outside of the group nearest the road. My family shouted a warning to me, and I jumped aside just as the car sped by, missing me by inches.
I’m so glad I brought our Lady’s medal along. She certainly was protecting us from harm. |
