April 2, 2007

The first letter is from California.

Dear Father,

Five years ago I had a mastectomy for breast cancer. I have been in remission since then. At my last checkup, an X-ray showed fluid in my lungs.

I had ultra-sonic surgery to remove the fluid, but the build-up continued. Since then I've had five more surgeries to aspirate the fluid.

Finally, I had another surgery to inject a substance to seal a gap between my ribs and the walls of my lungs. The gap was presumably allowing the fluid to leak into my lungs.

This final surgery drained my strength completely. I felt so weak I thought I might die.

I prayed to our good, loving, and caring God and to Blessed Mary, our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. A lot of my relatives and friends prayed for me too. Little by little, I regained my strength, and though no words were spoken, I know God heard my prayers and those of the others because I can feel it in my heart.

Thanks to our Lady and our loving God for answering these prayers.

The second letter is from Indiana.

Dear Father,

I am writing to have a Votive Light burned in thanksgiving for favors obtained through the grace of our Lady.

My daughter was diagnosed with a very serious hearing problem. Tests showed that medication probably wouldn't help her recover her hearing. She was to come back for another evaluation and more tests in a couple of months.

I had a Votive Light lit at our Lady's Shrine and asked our Lady of the Miraculous Medal to intercede in my daughter's behalf.

When my daughter returned to be tested again, the doctors found that her hearing was perfectly normal. They were amazed, and at a loss to explain why her hearing had returned.

My prayers for a cure for my daughter were answered. Many thanks to our Lady, and I will always be in her debt.

Share your story of Mary's intercession for you.
