The second letter is from Mississippi.
Dear Father,
Thank you for your prayers for those of us in the hurricane area. Everyone here has an incredible story of survival including us, and I've found that people here have tired of hearing them.
There were no phones, including cell phones, no power, no police to call for help, no noise from traffic because there was no way to get anywhere due to trees down across the roads, not even a dripping faucet because there was no water. At night, it was so quiet. It was the best prayer and reflection time I've ever had.
Three days after the storm I was able to contact my son. Since they had water we decided to take my disabled husband to their home.
I was so proud when he told me, "Mom, bring anything you have to eat with you because we already have 15 people staying here and none of the stores are open." I was so proud of him. They didn't turn anyone away who came to their door. Does this remind you of anyone? Thanks for your concern. We are back home, still doing repairs, and trying to get back to normal. |
