From Father Henry GrodeckiOur May Procession

You’re invited to join us in our annual May Procession from the Shrine to the Miraculous Medal Grotto on Sunday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m. This much-revered tradition is a public expression of the profound devotion that is part of the Catholic spirituality of the faithful people of Perry County and the surrounding region.

If you can’t attend in person, I invite you to send your petitions to be carried in the procession, and burn a Votive Light for your intentions at our Lady’s Shrine.

Vincentian Family

The Vincentian Family article in this issue speaks of a very special organization in the Vincentian Family—the Vincentian Marian Youth. It is a worldwide organization, and we are fortunate to have a local group here in Southeast Missouri. I am sure you will be inspired as you read about these young people who are so filled with love of Mary and the graces of the Holy Spirit.

Devotion to Mary

I invite you to read a short article about the different forms of devotion to Mary. We so often view our Marian devotion as that of petitionary prayer, asking Mary for all sorts of favors since she is the Mother of God. There is so much more to Marian devotion than just this.

A Member’s Legacy

I invite you to read about a member’s legacy and her final gift of love to the Association through her estate.

This Year’s Pilgrimage—Paris and a Cruise on the Rhône and Saône Rivers

Our Miraculous Medal pilgrimage will leave in just a few weeks. It includes a seven-day river cruise through Provence in Southern France. Then we will spend a few days in Paris which will include a visit to the Chapel of the Apparitions at rue du Bac.

We will remember you in our prayers at the various churches and shrines along our way, and especially at our Lady’s Shrine in the Chapel of the Apparitions.

It is always a pleasure to have you participate spiritually in our pilgrimages. We, of course, would rather have you along with us to visit all of these special places. Remembering you and your intentions along the way is the next best way of your being there.

There is still time for you to send us your petitions for the pilgrimage and burn a Votive Light for your intentions at our Lady’s Shrine.

Online Gift Shop

I have two lovely gifts to offer you in this issue of our Newsletter. The first is a CD of Marian hymns recorded by our very own Shrine Choir. Our second gift is an exquisite Blue Star Rosary to honor our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Click here for a special offer if you wish to request both gifts.

And we have many more resources at our online Gift Shop for other events that often occur in May—Mother’s Day, First Communion, graduation, and weddings, just to name a few.

Monthly Giving Program

To help keep the Association’s administrative costs to a minimum we offer a Monthly Giving Program that makes it possible for you to add an automatic charge to your credit card, or a debit to your bank account on the 10th of each month. This allows more of your donation to go directly to the works of our Lady’s Association.
