Father Henry GrodeckiThis issue of the Association’s newsletter is dedicated to Lent and the Missions.  This gives us several weeks for reflection and prayer to prepare for Lent and Easter.

Lent

One of the Eucharistic Prefaces speaks of Lent as a joyful season.  This may not sound correct to us because we associate Lent with “giving things up,” with somberness and gloom.  Yet Lent is meant to be a time to renew ourselves so we can renew our baptismal commitment at Easter.  Lent is a hopeful season of our continuing conversion.

During Lent, we are to fast, to pray, and to give alms.  These three practices are referred to as the “Sacred Tripod.”  They help us to address the relationships in our lives.  Fasting helps us to get in touch with ourselves.  Prayer deepens our relationship with God.  Almsgiving helps us to see that we have an obligation to each other, especially the needy.  In this way, we may journey to Easter with our minds and hearts renewed.

Easter Cards

Many people send Easter cards, and our Lady’s Association offers Easter cards with the added benefit of a spiritual gift.  Since we celebrate Easter so early this year, you may have already received one in the mail.  If you’d like to get one, or order more, just click on this link or call.

Monthly Giving Program

We have started a Monthly Giving Program for your convenience.  You can add an automatic charge to your credit card or a debit to your bank account on the 10th of each month.  This keeps the Association’s administrative costs to a minimum.  And it allows more of your donation to go directly to the good works of our Lady’s Association.  If you are interested in the details of this program, you can find more information by clicking on the link or selecting the “Monthly Giving” link on our home page.

Remembering the Association in Your Will

There are so many options these days of planning for the future.  The same is true with the Miraculous Medal Association.  I would be happy to send you an informative little brochure on Planned Giving.  Just click on this link, call, or write us here at the Association.

Online Gift Shop

We are offering two traditional Miraculous Medals this month:  A Gold-Plated Pewter Heart Crucifix and chain, and a lovely Sterling Silver Filigree Miraculous Medal and chain.   Just click on the link to visit our online Gift Shop to order other fine religious articles.
