A Personal Gift from Father Grodecki

Mary is the Mother of Jesus, the Mother of God.  Motherhood is, perhaps, no more apparent than at the time of giving birth to a child.  As we celebrate Mary’s divine motherhood on Christmas, we can remember that Mary is also our mother.  Mary takes special care to remind us of her motherhood through her Miraculous Medal.  By participating in her Association, you have brought Mary’s motherhood to many of her children, especially those most in need of her love.

Clearly, Christmas is about motherly love.  Mary gave us the gift of her Son, and by your membership, you continue to share her gift with others.  You and I are partners in bringing Mary’s motherly care to the world.  Now, in the spirit of Christmas, I have a gift for YOU this Christmas.  It’s a small token of appreciation for how you have been involved in the Association that you have joined.  By your membership—your prayers, sacrifices, and donations you—

  • bring our Lady of the Miraculous Medal’s message of love and care to the Catholics of North America.
  • support the works of the Vincentian priests and brothers as they bring the gospel to the poor.
  • help home and foreign missions.
  • collaborate with the Vincentian Family worldwide.

The entire Vincentian community in the western United States joins me in their prayers and thanks to you.  You share in their Masses and are partners in their spiritual works.

But at Christmas, I want to give you a special, personal spiritual gift.  Unfortunately, I cannot personally remember each and every name or each and every petition.  However, what I will do is have a Votive Light burn for you during the nine days of the beautiful Christmas Novena, December 16 to 24.  My gift will be your light at our Lady’s Shrine.

Would you like your own individual intentions to be there, too?  They will be at our Lady’s Altar if you send them to me on time. May the Baby Jesus, the Light of the World, bless you.  May his Virgin Mother shed her love on you at her divine Son’s holy birth.
