When I reflect on the Blessed Mother’s Assumption, I think that Mary being assumed body and soul into heaven was certainly an appropriate culmination for how she lived her life on earth.

Our Lady’s Assumption is a sign of hope for us. She is where we hope to be after we finish our earthly journey—she is with God. Mary listened to God’s word, she was obedient, and she trusted him.

If we live our lives like Mary—in prayer, trust, and love—we too can be full of hope in our own resurrection. God will fulfill his promise to us beyond all our expectations
