All Souls Day Remembrance Title

When Mary appeared to Catherine Labouré in 1830, she gave her a mission, and made a promise to Catherine and to us when she said, “Have a medal struck upon this model. Those who wear it will receive great graces, especially if they wear it around the neck.” Mary kept her promise to Catherine. She keeps her promise to us today.

Wearing the Medal of the Immaculate Conception, which soon became known as the “Miraculous Medal,” is a simple act of faith filled with the promise of wonderful favors and blessings.

I recently received a letter from a friend telling me about the graces she received through our Lady’s intercession—

“Father, I’d like to tell you about how the Blessed Mother interceded in my life. For years, I have worn the Miraculous Medal and promoted devotion to our Lady. Last year, during a routine sonogram for kidney stones, I was diagnosed with a “mass” on my right kidney. On my doctor’s recommendation, I saw a kidney specialist, who, on reviewing my test results, was ninety-nine percent certain that it was malignant.

I was devastated. I went home that evening and immediately began praying my Miraculous Medal Novena. Not wanting to accept his diagnosis, I saw another doctor a few weeks later. After more extensive testing, I learned that the “mass” on my kidney was a benign cyst.

I was extremely grateful to the Blessed Mother for her intercession last year, and will be thankful to her for the rest of my life.”

Do you need the Blessed Mother’s intercession too? Do you have a special need or request?  Or perhaps you wish to give thanks to our Lady for graces you have received.

I invite you to join us in our annual Miraculous Medal Novena by sending in your petition today. For the nine days before the feast of our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, November 19-27, we will pray especially for you and your intentions.

Come before Mary’s Altar. Enjoy the power of our Lady’s intercession. Pray for your special intention now. Our Blessed Mother is waiting to hear your prayers. Our Lady will send you the graces you need, just as she promised Saint Catherine Labouré.

I also invite you to light a Votive Light for your intentions. The Votive Light will remain here as a symbol of your prayers and your continuing spiritual presence before her Shrine Altar.

Like my friend, many people tell me about answered prayers. Share your story of Mary's intercession for you.

Sincerely yours in our Lady,

Fr. James Ward
P.S. I have two fascinating gifts to offer you. The first is an attractive Sterling Silver Filigree Miraculous Medal, and the second is our exclusive 2010 Miraculous Medal Pocket Planner .
