Our families need prayers, now, more than ever before. The Blessed Mother stands forth as a shining beacon of hope for all of us in times like these. She is our ever-present mother, willing to listen to us when times are bad and our families are suffering.
As mother of the Holy Family, Mary knew plenty of hardships—
- giving birth to her Son in a stable,
- fleeing to Egypt with a newborn child,
- losing her Son in the temple,
- living as the wife of a poor carpenter,
- and finally seeing her Son die on the cross
All these events challenged her, and she met each of them prayerfully with full faith and humble acceptance of God’s will for her and her family.
Neither God nor Mary cares for us from far away. They act. And they act through us. Our Lady’s Association is a sign of how they act. Together they invite us to work with them to help others, especially families.

You can help your family or another family. First, send your own petition to the Shrine for remembrance and light a Votive Light as a sign of your prayers for your family.
