has been a Lenten practice in the Church for a long time. So it is only natural that we continue to make Lenten sacrificial gifts to help the poor and to support those serving in the missions.
When we think of missionaries, we most often think of those who leave their native lands
and travel to far away places. And we’d be right. However, a missionary’s work sometimes takes place right at home.
Kenya is an excellent example of this. Father John Musolo, C.M. was ordained just last June. He’s now serving his fellow citizens as a parish priest, but his work is truly mission work, for the Church still considers Kenya as “mission” territory.
