Annunication imageWhen the angel Gabriel spoke the words, “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.” to Mary, the fate of the human race was about to be changed. Mary was on the brink of becoming the most blessed of all women!

She was to be the bearer of God’s greatest gift—our redeemer. All she needed to do was to accept the grace of God freely into her heart.

We celebrate the moment Mary opened her heart to God’s grace with the feast of the Annunciation, for it was at this instant that the Incarnation took place—the Word became flesh.

Usually we celebrate the Annunciation on March 25, but in 2008 that date falls during Easter week. So this year we celebrate the feast of the Annunciation on March 31, the Monday after Easter week.

Beginning on March 31, we will celebrate a solemn novena at our Lady’s Shrine. We will remember you and your intentions for nine days in the Masses and prayers at our Lady’s Altar. Send your petition today.

Any donation you send will help us spread devotion to our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. And you will support Vincentian missionaries, seminarians, and our senior Vincentians. These men gratefully remember you and your intentions in their Masses and prayers each day.

Please join us during our Annunciation novena when we pray that others will open their hearts to God, allowing him in, allowing him to fill them with his grace so they can become better Christians. Thus in your own way, you will be like Mary at the Annunciation, when she said yes to the angel Gabriel. Mary’s yes helped bring God’s graces back into our world.
