All Souls Day Remembrance Title

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.

—The Apostle’s Creed

When we pray these words of the Apostle’s Creed, we profess our belief in the communion of saints. We affirm our belief that we remain with each other even after death. And when we pray for our friends and family members who have died, especially on All Souls Day, we help them on their path to life everlasting.

Our faith is the reason we pray for our beloved dead on All Souls Day.

On November 2 will you join us here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in praying for the Poor Souls? We will pray confidently for those who have gone before us—as they will pray for us as they join the communion of saints.

Remember your deceased loved ones by simply filling in their names on the All Souls remembrance list.

Our prayer doesn’t stop on November 2. The names of those we remember that day will remain at the Shrine for remembrance all month. And they will stay near our Lady’s altar for a full year so we can remember them in our prayers and Mass on the anniversary of their death.

And there is more… It is as if you could remain at our Lady’s Stained GlassShrine yourself all November. A Votive Light burning by Mary’s Altar can become a silent witness of your desire to be here. It is a beautiful and long-standing tradition to burn Votive Lights, especially during the month of November.

To burn a Votive Light for a departed loved one, check the space on the remembrance list. The usual offering for each 60-day Votive Light is only $10.

Your offering will promote devotion to our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. It will also encourage prayer for the faithful departed. You will help support members of the Vincentian community in their work with the poor, the oppressed, and the clergy who serve them.

Sincerely yours in Mary,
