when the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was to be the Mother of the Son of God. Mary’s humble reply of acceptance of God’s will, “…be it done to me according to your word,” was a wonderful testimony to her faith in God and submission to his will.

Because Mary said yes at the Annunciation, she gained a special place in God’s plan for our salvation. And her faith-filled acceptance of the will of God continues a pattern that begins with Abraham and Isaac in the Old Testament and weaves its way throughout our history.

Some 1600 years after Mary’s yes, Vincent de Paul discovered God in the faces of the poor. His yes to God’s will and his desire to help the impoverished led Vincent to gather a family of coworkers to help him carry on his work.

A little over 200 years after Vincent’s yes, a member of his family of charitable coworkers said yes to a mission she received from Mary. Catherine Labouré’s success in fulfilling our Lady’s mission resulted in the creation of the Miraculous Medal and the Association that bears its name. And following Vincent’s example, Catherine’s yes included many years of service to the abandoned poor of Paris.

Will you say "yes" by supporting the work of our Lady's Association?

Say yes now with a contribution to our Lady’s Association, and you will continue to share in the charitable works of Saint Vincent and Saint Catherine. By your membership in the Association, you give hope to others, especially to the poor. By saying yes to the poor, you say yes to Mary and through her, you say yes to God.

And in your own way, you will be like Mary at the Annunciation, when she said yes to the angel Gabriel. Mary’s yes was good news for the world throughout history. Your yes will echo Mary’s, and receive its meaning because she said yes so long ago.

Sincerely yours in Mary,
