A Friend of Our Lady's Association

Midge Bigler

Midge Bigler joined our Lady’s Association in early 2004 when she requested healing prayers at our Lady’s Shrine for her niece. She said that the personal letter of concern for her niece she received from us touched her. In fact, she keeps many of the letters that she receives from the Association. They have been so uplifting to her that she reads them over and over.

Behold Your Mother

She has become very devoted to our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. She has come to our Lady with many prayers and requests over the last few years. Midge related that many of her family members and friends have had healings through the intercession of our Lady.

A friend of hers who had cancer was healed, and the healing cards Midge sent her friend gave her the strength to battle this dreaded disease.

Midge related her feelings about our Lady, “Our Lord wants us to come to his Mother and ask her to intercede for us. He has told us ‘Behold your mother.’”

Midge and her husband, Dick, attended a reception the Association hosted for some of our donors in March 2007. Midge had been mailing a monthly donation to the Association. She has since joined our Monthly Giving Club since it was more convenient and an easy way to give through her debit card. Thanks to her continued generosity, in early 2007 she became a member of the Crown of Our Lady Club.

We were humbled when she wrote the following, “Over the years I have donated to many charities but I have found that few even mention my previous request but only send mailings requesting another donation. I would strongly encourage others to join this beautiful Association and give a monthly donation.”

Perpetual Memberships

Midge often makes a gift of a Perpetual Membership in our Lady’s Association to her loved ones.

When asked why, she said, “Perpetual Membership for my loved ones is important to me because I believe that purgatory is real. To me it is a place where the Poor Souls are not yet in the full presence of our Savior. They know they will eventually reap the full reward of heaven when they are fully prepared to see the light of God’s magnificent face. So the 57 monthly Masses said for the Poor Souls helps them to get to see our Lord’s face. This is why this is so important to me.”

The Association supports a number of good works, and when asked which of these she considers more important, Midge couldn’t make a choice, feeling all were equally important in their own way. However, she did mention that promoting devotion to our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and becoming closer to our Lady have deepened her spiritual life as a Catholic.

We are very grateful for Midge’s generosity and her dedication to our Lady’s work.

Our Lady has blessed Midge and her family and friends with many graces. Midge wanted to share her personal experiences with you to thank our Lady for her many blessings and as another way to spread devotion to our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. She would like to invite you to become closer to Mary and her divine Son.

Send your petitions to our Lady’s Altar where they will join Midge’s and the petitions of other members of the Association. Here they will be remembered in my daily Masses and prayers, the prayers of other members of our Lady’s Association, and the prayers of the Vincentian Family in the western part of the United States.
