Association of the Miraculous Medal

As I write to you today, I am picturing the many grand parades held throughout the year in these United States of America--Veterans Day, Mardi Gras, Thanksgiving Day, and so many more. As individual members of the one Body of Christ, human beings are naturally drawn to reunion and celebration of the mysteries of God.

It is no coincidence, then, that the Holy Mother Church embraces Christian procession as a means of guiding us in this earthly pilgrimage to heaven.

Here at the Association of the Miraculous Medal in Perryville, Missouri, we carry out the important mission of bringing the world to Jesus through his and our Immaculate Mother Mary. We do this through charitable outreach, prayer, promotion of the Miraculous Medal, and yes, procession!

This is why members of our Lady’s Association come together every year for Mary’s May Procession. Our hearts yearn to honor our Blessed Mother and seek her maternal assistance.

You are invited to join me and hundreds of pilgrims on Sunday, May 6, at 1:00 p.m., CT, in person or in spirit, for this year’s May Procession here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. In this month of our Lady, we will crown Mary with flowers and ask the Queen of Heaven to fill our hearts with the love of her Son Jesus.

In addition to the procession in Perryville, there will also be one in Montebello, California, if that is more accessible for you. There, at the De Paul Evangelization Center, a bilingual Mass (English and Spanish) and multicultural celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m., PT, followed by the procession and crowning. Fr. Perry Henry, C.M., the director of the De Paul Evangelization Center, will be the celebrant this year.

Each and every one of us needs prayer and encouragement, and I have witnessed time and again that when our prayers come together as one, they hold immense power. This collective power is the same with our charitable gifts.

Your generous offerings are joined to those of other members, and one by one these gifts multiply to help our Lady’s Association bring hearts to Jesus through Mary. Your contribution will allow us to continue our Lady’s mission given to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris, France, in the year 1830.

I invite you to join our Association family by taking part in this devotion to our Blessed Mother.

Please send your intentions  and we will pray for them throughout the month.

Your generosity will help us continue our mission of bringing Jesus to the world through Mary, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

I understand that due to distance or hardship, it may be impossible for you to physically join the May Processions in Perryville or Montebello. If this is the case, please know that you and your intentions will not be absent. No matter where you are, you are being remembered in prayer by our Lady’s Association family!

Thank you for your ongoing support. May God bless you, and may Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal obtain for you God’s infinite grace.

Sincerely in Jesus and Mary,

Fr. Kevin McCracken, C.M.
Spiritual Director

P.S.  You may also request Votive Lights to burn as a sign of your prayers.
