Association of the Miraculous Medal
Shrine Event Schedule

You are invited to join us on May 7, 2017, at 3:30 p.m., CDT, for our annual outdoor May Procession here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. It’s a special afternoon when people of all ages walk together from the Shrine Church to the Shrine grotto to honor Mary by singing her praises, praying her rosary, and witnessing her love for us. Before the statue of Mary is crowned with a beautiful wreath of flowers by a high school student, the children who made their First Communion will present roses to Mary and the Confirmation class will place petitions from members of the Association at Mary’s feet. Banners made of hand-sewn petition cloth pieces will also be presented to Mary. Mass is celebrated at 11:00 a.m., CDT, at the Shrine Church on the morning of the procession if you would like to attend this as well. Leave your intentions here if you would like for them to be remembered during the May Procession and during the month of May.

At the De Paul Evangelization Center in Montebello, California, Fr. Prudencio Rodriguez, C.M., will be celebrating a bilingual Mass in English and Spanish at 12:00 noon followed by the May Procession and crowning. If you live in the area, you are invited to attend this special event to honor Mary.

Whether you attend the May Procession in person or in spirit, it’s a wonderful way to express your devotion and love of Mary, and to deepen your faith in her Son Jesus.

2017 Pilgrimage to Portugal

Please accept this invitation to journey with our Lady’s Association to Fatima,
May 1 – 10, 2017, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima.
During this ten day pilgrimage, we will visit Lisbon, Santarem, Fatima, Santiago de Compostela, Coimbra, Braga, Porto, and Sintra. In Fatima we will visit the Basilica
of Our Lady of Fatima, the tombs of Francisco, Jacinto, and Sister Lucia, where they
lived, where our Lady appeared to them, and the Little Chapel of Apparitions with the famous statue of Our Lady of Fatima. Other places of interest will be the Monastery
of Saint Clare, the Shrine of the “Good Jesus,” the cathedral housing the remains of Saint James, the church housing the Eucharistic Miracle, the royal Pena Palace, and much more.

We’ve worked hard on this pilgrimage to offer you the best places to visit, excellent restaurants, and good hotels. You will have the opportunity to attend daily Mass and to join other members of our Miraculous Medal family to strengthen your faith as you walk, pray, and reflect on your own journey.

Relic of St. Catherine Labouré

We have exciting news to share!  Earlier this year a young man, who wishes to remain anonymous, gifted the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal with an heirloom, first-class relic of St. Catherine Labouré.The relic was given to his grandmother by a priest friend and was then passed on to the young man years later.  After prayerful consideration, he felt sure the relic belonged in a place where it could be seen and venerated by the public—not hidden away in his safety deposit box.  He found our Lady’s Shrine while searching the internet and made a special visit to Perryville to “check us out.”  After his visit and tour of the Shrine, the grounds, and the Miraculous Medal office, he knew in his heart that he had found the right home for his relic of St. Catherine to reside.  Of course, we are honored and blessed that this young man chose to pass on his precious heirloom to us.

Now that we have prepared St. Catherine’s relic for veneration here at our Lady’s Shrine, it will be available every Monday night before and after the Miraculous Medal Novena which begins at 7:15 p.m. (followed by Mass at 7:30 p.m.).

May we all be reminded of St. Catherine’s exemplary cooperation in the mission Mary gave her.  Let us also be inspired to call on Catherine in prayer, and on the grace of God to live the same faith-filled life that she did.
