In the years since the Miraculous Medal was first struck, Mary has touched the lives of hundreds of millions who have worn her medal and trusted in her intercession. The Association here in Perryville, Missouri, continues this mission by bringing people to Jesus through our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.  Allow the Association to pray with you. Send your petitions for remembrance in our annual Miraculous Medal Novena, November 18-26, and request Votive Lights to burn.  Read more about how Mary is waiting to hear from you. To help you remember to pray and ask for God’s graces, request your 15-month Miraculous Medal Planner for 2018-2019. As you write your own scheduled dates and events, it will remind you that Mary brings Jesus to you every day of your life!

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Friday, September 8. The Association of the Miraculous Medal has a beautiful tradition of remembering Mary’s birthday each year. Beginning on September 8, and lasting for eight days, an octave of prayer will be offered at our Lady’s Shrine.  Send me your petitions to be remembered here at the Shrine during this special octave of prayer honoring our Blessed Mother or burn Votive Lights for family and friends. Mary loves us beyond our greatest imagination, and so as our heavenly Mother and the Mother of God, her prayer is truly miraculous.  When we offer her our united petitions, Jesus hears and answers them.

I invite you to join us at our Blessed Mother’s Altar during the Our Lady of Sorrows Novena, beginning on September 6. Send us your petitions to be placed near Mary’s Altar, and burn Votive Lights for your intentions. For each of the nine days of the novena, say this prayer. Mary is Our Lady of Sorrows.  She carries this honored title because she knows and experiences sorrow as deeply and as painfully as anyone possibly can. She witness the excruciating passion and crucifixion of her only Son, unable to help him…except by her prayers. This is how our Lady helps us today, and she is waiting to help you now!  Read Fr. Kevin’s message about Our Lady of Sorrows.

“My child, the good God wishes to charge you with a mission.”  On July 18, 1830, our Lady of the Miraculous Medal spoke these words to Sister Catherine Labouré, a novice of the Daughters of Charity in Paris, France. As we celebrate the 187th anniversary of Mary’s apparition to Saint Catherine, let us remember we, too, are Mary’s children. God wishes to charge us with the same mission of sharing his loving goodness with others. I invite you to send your petitions and burn a Votive Light at our Lady’s Altar, asking our Blessed Mother to obtain God’s graces for you, your family, and the entire world. They will be remembered in the Mass and prayers offered on July 18, the anniversary date, at the Apostle of Charity Chapel.  Thank you for following Saint Catherine’s example and boldly accepting God’s mission given to us by our Lady.

Beginning Monday, August 7, at 8:00 a.m., CDT, we will honor our Blessed Mother here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal with a very special Assumption Novena of Masses.  On each of these nine days we will celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in devotion to Mary, asking her to obtain for us God’s infinite graces.  Please send me any special prayer intentions you have.  We will place them at our Lady’s Altar and remember them in the nine Assumption Masses we celebrate, including the Solemnity Mass on August 15. You may also wish to burn a Votive Light at the Shrine as an expression of your desire to honor Mary and seek her intercession.  Read Fr. Kevin’s Assumption message to learn more about the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Solemnity of the Assumption provides us with a wonderful opportunity to honor Mary, glorious in heaven, always interceding for us!
