Send your petitions and burn Votive Lights at our Lady’s National Shrine here in Perryville, Missouri, for the Mother of Divine Grace Novena, beginning June 12 and lasting nine days. Let our Blessed Mother intercede for you with her loving Son. Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal told Saint Catherine Labouré, “Come to the foot of the altar. Graces will be shed on all, great and little, especially upon those who ask for them.”  Our Lady is the Mother of Divine Grace, and she is inviting you to bring your needs and petitions to the foot of her altar.  I also invite you to say this prayer to our Lady throughout the nine days of this novena.

Christ worked miracles of healing during his life on earth, and he continues working miracles of healing now, especially through the intercession of his and our Blessed Mother Mary. Use our new Healing Remembrance Card to bring comfort and strength to someone suffering from illness, injury, substance abuse, or emotional pain. You will be asking Mary to intercede during their time of suffering and to bring her Son’s miraculous healing. Read more about Mary’s healing intercession in Fr. Kevin’s letter.

In ancient Biblical times, perfumed oil was the symbol of great abundance, and to be anointed on the head with oil was the sign of true blessing. Use our Blessed Oil to strengthen your resolve by turning your thoughts and prayers to Jesus and Mary in times of sadness, suffering, illness, and temptation. For an offering of $17 or more, we will send you a hand-packaged, half ounce bottle of oil which has been blessed here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and touched to a first-class relic of Saint Catherine Labouré. A healing prayer card will be included. The prayer can be said when using this oil on yourself, your children, grandchildren, and anyone else in need of Mary’s motherly care and God’s healing love. Read more about the Blessed Oil in Fr. Kevin’s letter.

Please send me your Annunciation intentions for our octave of Masses and request Votive Lights to burn at our Lady’s Shrine. The octave begins Monday, April 9, and we want to remember you and your prayer requests throughout the eight days. On the feast of the Annunciation, April 9, the Church celebrates Mary’s “yes” to God. The angel Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Behold you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus” (Luke 1:31). We hope you will come, in person or in spirit, to our Lady’s Shrine in prayer during our Annunciation Octave of Masses, and let Mary’s ‘yes’ be your ‘yes’ too!

The Annunciation is usually celebrated on March 25. However, when March 25 falls during Holy Week, the feast is moved to the Monday after the second Sunday of Easter. Therefore, in 2018 the Solemnity of the Annunciation will be celebrated on April 9.

On May 14, Fr. Kevin McCracken, CM, and a group of pilgrims will begin the Association’s pilgrimage to France and Switzerland in celebration of the Association’s 100th anniversary and the Vincentian charism’s 400th anniversary. The pilgrims will visit the chapel of our Lady’s apparition to Saint Catherine Labouré on rue du Bac in Paris in the year 1830. The pilgrims will also visit and celebrate Mass at the Chapel of the Vincentian Motherhouse where the remains of the Vincentian founder, Saint Vincent de Paul, are enshrined. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about this spiritual journey. We hope you will join us in spirit and prayer on this journey of faith by sending your petitions to be remembered in the Masses offered during the pilgrimage. In commemoration of this pilgrimage, request the Sterling Silver Miraculous Medal and chain, the Fancy Leaf Miraculous Medal and chain, or the Deluxe Paris Wood Rosary.  All gifts requested will be taken on the pilgrimage and blessed at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in Paris, France. Gifts will then be mailed to you upon return from the pilgrimage.

Follow the pilgrimage itinerary, and recite the prayer to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal each day of the pilgrimage. You can also follow Fr. Kevin and the other pilgrims each day of their pilgrimage on our homepage, Facebook, or Twitter.

Mother's Day Remembrance
As adopted daughters of Mary, every mother on earth can count on our Blessed Mother to instruct them in the ways of Christian motherhood. Join us in celebrating Mother’s Day this year by asking our Lady to obtain God’s grace for the mothers in your life. The Association has a new Mother’s Day card which includes a prayer for the one who receives it, a remembrance in the Association’s Mass on Mother’s Day, May 13, and throughout the month of May. Send me your petitions and the names of your loved ones to be remembered here at the Shrine. Read Fr. Kevin’s inspiring Mother’s Day message about the challenges of motherhood and the love our Blessed Mother has for each of us.

You are invited to join the Association’s Octave of Masses, February 11-18, honoring Our Lady of Lourdes.  Send us your intentions now to be remembered and burn Votive Lights.  Mary, under her titles of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal and Our Lady of Lourdes, is always ready to help her children. So many miracles at the healing pools of Lourdes, France, testify to the fact that Mary intercedes for us!  St. Bernadette was wearing a Miraculous Medal when Mary, the Immaculate Conception, appeared to her in 1858. This close connection between Lourdes and the Miraculous Medal is why we celebrate an octave of Masses here at the National Shrine of the Miraculous Medal honoring Our Lady of Lourdes. Read Fr. Kevin’s letter about the story of Dr. Alexis Carrell, an agnostic, who witnessed first-hand the miracle at Lourdes, France.

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is Friday, September 8. The Association of the Miraculous Medal has a beautiful tradition of remembering Mary’s birthday each year. Beginning on September 8, and lasting for eight days, an octave of prayer will be offered at our Lady’s Shrine.  Send me your petitions to be remembered here at the Shrine during this special octave of prayer honoring our Blessed Mother or burn Votive Lights for family and friends. Mary loves us beyond our greatest imagination, and so as our heavenly Mother and the Mother of God, her prayer is truly miraculous.  When we offer her our united petitions, Jesus hears and answers them.

“My child, the good God wishes to charge you with a mission.”  On July 18, 1830, our Lady of the Miraculous Medal spoke these words to Sister Catherine Labouré, a novice of the Daughters of Charity in Paris, France. As we celebrate the 187th anniversary of Mary’s apparition to Saint Catherine, let us remember we, too, are Mary’s children. God wishes to charge us with the same mission of sharing his loving goodness with others. I invite you to send your petitions and burn a Votive Light at our Lady’s Altar, asking our Blessed Mother to obtain God’s graces for you, your family, and the entire world. They will be remembered in the Mass and prayers offered on July 18, the anniversary date, at the Apostle of Charity Chapel.  Thank you for following Saint Catherine’s example and boldly accepting God’s mission given to us by our Lady.
