Association of the Miraculous Medal

As testimonies to the generosity of God's love in answer to prayers offered through our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the Association receives thousands of letters. In that spirit of gratitude to God, the Association publishes edited sections of some letters.

The first letter is from an email.

Dear Father,

I was baptized Catholic, but grew up in a non- Catholic environment. Many years ago I lost my two children to their father who became Muslim and had them converted as well. I prayed to God to protect my children every day. Four years ago, during Lent, I attended a Catholic church and began my devotion to Mary. I started praying to her to help me find my children, especially my son. I didn't know if praying to her was correct because I was always told to pray only to Jesus and God our Father. However, within a week, our Blessed Mother helped me find my son. I flew to Canada to meet with him. I now share my story with everyone I know. Mary is truly a very compassionate and loving mother. Only she could understand the pain a mother feels in losing a child. Praise and thanks be to her.

The second letter is from Texas.

Dear Father,

Last year, I was going through a period of depression. Having been very close to my faith, I felt as though I had become distant from God, and did not know how to return. I visited my grandmother who is a woman of unwavering faith with a special devotion to Mary and the Miraculous Medal. My visit was near Mary's birthday, and we talked about her. In my head, as we talked, I was praying to Mary to show me the light, to let me know that through this dark time I was being heard. I asked for a sign. As my grandmother and I got up to leave, she shrieked. We looked down and saw a Miraculous Medal facing upwards in her shoe. I told my grandmother that I had been praying for a sign. I truly believe this was my sign to keep my faith and that Mary would get me through this difficult time. Since that time, I keep my Miraculous Medal in my wallet. As I pray through all occasions, I place it on myself or those I love. I am no longer depressed. I know that Mary will help me through any tribulations I might face in the future.

Share your story of Mary's intercession for you.
