Association of the Miraculous Medal

As testimonies to the generosity of God's love in answer to prayers offered through our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the Association receives thousands of letters. In that spirit of gratitude to God, the Association publishes edited sections of some letters.

The first letter is from Arkansas.

Dear Father,

My story of our Lady's intercession began long ago, when my older cousin's marriage took place in the first Catholic Church I had ever seen. I had no memories of Catholicism at all, but the moment I walked into the sanctuary, I felt something totally different from anything I'd experienced in any church--and I'd attended many. There was just something different here, and my 12-year-old self thought it was probably because it was such a large place and had so many beautiful statues. The one that caught my eye (as you've probably guessed) was one of Mary. The statue had such a sweet face, and I swear the tender smile was real. I spent a lot of time in front of that statue, thinking of Bible stories about Mary in a whole new way, and just wondering what it would have been like to have known her. Not knowing any Catholic teacher, I wished that Mary could have been a mother figure to me too. Now, of course, I know that the difference I felt in this church was the presence of Our Lord. I firmly believe my little wish was heard, and that our Lady was instrumental in my entire family converting to Catholicism several years later. And despite hearing any number of stories about how difficult accepting our Lady is to many converts, none of my family had any problem with this. So now I pray the rosary to my heavenly mother, and rest in the joy of her motherly love that led my family ever closer to her Son, our Lord.

The second letter is from Michigan.

Dear Father,

I love to give out the Miraculous Medal! I wear a large one myself. When I receive free medals, I hand them out to whoever will take one. I have stopped counting the number of medals I’ve passed on to others! The same thing for the cord rosaries! I love our Blessed Mother and her Miraculous Medal.
