Association of the Miraculous Medal

As testimonies to the generosity of God's love in answer to prayers offered through our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the Association receives thousands of letters. In that spirit of gratitude to God, the Association publishes edited sections of some letters.

May 1, 2017

The first letter is from Texas.

Dear Father,

In October of 2015, I received a letter from the Association saying my daughter with breast cancer was being remembered in the Masses and prayers at our Lady’s Shrine. As of April 2016, my daughter’s cancer has been in remission. I know this is because of Mary’s intercession with her son. Her breast cancer was one of the worst breast cancers, but with our prayers to Mother Mary, she has been healed. We feel this is a true miracle Jesus has given us. We sincerely thank the Association of the Miraculous Medal from the bottom of our hearts for all of your prayers.

The second letter is from North Carolina.

Dear Father,

I have always had a love for our Mother Mary, but sad to say I didn’t have a special devotion to her until one day in 1991 when I came down with a virus that destroyed most of my left ventricle. I was given three to five years to live. Several weeks after being discharged from the hospital, I was in a serious accident that almost cost me the loss of my left leg. The injury did end my career in construction. While in the hospital my wife brought me a blessed Miraculous Medal and said I need to wear it forever. This started my devotion to Mary. Twenty-two years later, my dear wife of 55 years suffered a massive stroke. There was no hope for her recovery. She was kept comfortable. I prayed as hard as I ever had in asking Jesus to please take her home to himself. Within 20 minutes, my wife passed from this earth to heaven. Through our Blessed Mother’s intercession my heart and leg were saved, my wife and I were given many years of wedded bliss, we were blessed with twin grandsons, and then my final plea for my wife’s peaceful death was answered. Do I believe? This is self-evident that I love our Blessed Mother and her Son Jesus with all my heart. I will never remove my Miraculous Medal.
