Association of the Miraculous Medal

As testimonies to the generosity of God's love in answer to prayers offered through our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, the Association receives thousands of letters. In that spirit of gratitude to God, the Association publishes edited sections of some letters.

The first letter is from California.

Dear Father,

My mother suffered a broken ankle. While she was in the hospital they found she had congestive heart failure. After several days she went into respiratory distress and was put in ICU. She seemed to get a little better, but doctors were unable to give an exact diagnosis of what was going wrong with my mother. Several days passed and we received the call that my mother had coded and her heart stopped. My family all prayed differently. However, my father and I prayed and asked our Blessed Mother to intercede and save my mother's life so we would have a little more time with her. She was revived to the amazement of everyone in the ICU and even the ambulance transport personnel. They felt that it was strange how all of the urgent medical personnel were nearby and readily accessible. The nurse even cried and said it was not her time. I believe our Blessed Virgin Mary heard our prayers and interceded for us. I was a lapsed Catholic, but am lapsed no more. My mother loved our Lord very much and was especially devoted to Mary. My mother passed away about a week later after spending the day with family and receiving calls from distant relations. She had also received her last rites, and passed quickly. I thank Mary, Mother of God, for receiving such a beautiful blessing and for giving us the gift of time!

The second letter is from Canada.

Dear Father,

I converted to Catholicism 25 years ago. I encountered our Blessed Mother while on a pilgrimage. I am sure it was through her intercession that I became a Catholic.
