Mother's Day Remembrance

When Saint Catherine Labouré was nine years old, her beloved mother passed away.  To fill the void and soothe her aching heart, she adopted our Blessed Mother as her new mother. Through Mary’s maternal care, she promises to obtain the love of her Son Jesus for all who ask. On Mother’s Day, we remember our mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and all the mother figures in our lives who love us without condition.  The Association has a new Mother’s Day card which includes a prayer for the one who receives it, a remembrance in the Association’s Mass on Mother’s Day, and during the month of May. Send me your petitions to be remembered here at the Shrine on May 8.   Click here to read Fr. Kevin’s inspiring Mother’s Day message.

Join our 2016 Year of Mercy Pilgrimage to Poland

As you know, Pope Francis declared 2016 to be a Jubilee Year of Mercy.  This is your invitation to journey with the Association of the Miraculous Medal into the mercy of God by joining us on a spiritual and exciting Year of Mercy Pilgrimage to Poland and Prague, October 6 -15, 2016.  Poland is known as the land of mercy saints—St. John Paul II, St. Maximilian Kolbe, and St. Faustina Kowalska (Divine Mercy).  You will not only have the opportunity to pray to these saints, but to also visit the places where they lived and worked.  This trip will be a real blessing.  Click here to receive a colored brochure, or for more information please call our office 1-800-264-MARY(6279).

Join our Pentecost Novena of Masses

You are invited to join our Lady’s Association, in person or in spirit, for the Pentecost Novena of Masses which begins on May 7, and ends on the feast of Pentecost, May 15.  Pentecost is a time of promise.  Mary and the apostles prayed for nine days until the “promise,” the Holy Spirit, descended upon them at Pentecost.  They knew the power of  the novena.  Send your novena petitions and burn Votive Lights for the novena.  Ask our Blessed Mother to intercede for you as you pray to receive the graces of the Holy Spirit.  During the novena offered at the Shrine, say this prayer to the Holy Spirit.

What would happen if you died without a will?

Without a will, the state has technically made one for you.  From state to state, “intestacy” laws, which are impersonal and flexible, allow the court-appointed administrators to distribute all of your property to certain relatives—if they can be found—or to the state itself.  Also, intestacy laws cannot provide for worthwhile institutions such as the Association of the Miraculous Medal. Our Charitable Giving Division will be delighted to send you more information on will planning and how to plan a bequest to the Association.  Read the spring issue of Rays of Light for more information about Charitable Giving and Mary’s Legacy Society.

Answering the call

For nearly a century, the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal has served our AMM family as a center of prayer, the heart of our apostolate from which we reach out to the world as trusted messengers of truth and sharers of Mary's Miraculous Medal.

Now this center of devotion is itself in need of our loving care.

Click here to read more about Our Lady's Call and how you can become a part of this mission.

In pursuit of our Lady’s mission of distributing the Miraculous Medal to all the world, the Association’s goal is to distribute one million medals by September 8, as a present to Mary on the feast of her birthday.  We need your help to accomplish this!  Read more about sharing medals with family, friends, church groups, and schools.

Read comments from our members about how they are going to continue the mission that our Blessed Mother gave St. Catherine.

Students thank the Association for Miraculous Medals

As part of our Million Medals Campaign, local students at the Catholic Elementary School received Miraculous Medals from the Association.  Read here some of the letters written to us in appreciation for the medals from fifth grade students.  If you would like to know more about our campaign or need medals to hand out, click here.

Blessed Mother Healing Oil – Request yours today!

Like the Miraculous Medal, healing oil is a sign of our faith and a reminder of God’s immense love.

Its healing properties are found in the spiritual conversion of growing closer to our Lord – in prayer, in reading of sacred Scripture, and in reception of the Church’s sacraments, especially Holy Eucharist and Reconciliation. For an offering of $17 or more, we will send you a hand-packaged, one ounce bottle of Blessed Mother Healing Oil which has been blessed and touched to a relic of Saint Catherine Labouré here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.  Send your intentions and say this prayer to our Lady for healing when using this oil on yourself, your children, grandchildren, and anyone else in need of Mary’s motherly care and God’s healing love.  To read Fr. Kevin’s letter about our Blessed Mother’s Healing Oil, click here.
