Walk For Life
Walk for Life Update
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for the Association’s first ever “Walk for Life” held on the Shrine grounds, January 17. We were blessed with an unusually warm, sunny day to walk and pray for Mary’s intercession for the preservation of life. One hundred adults and children participated in the silent walk to Mary’s grotto which was led by two members of our local Knights of Columbus. At the grotto the rosary was recited by all in petition for protection of the unborn. The group then processed back to the Shrine Church where Fr. Mike Joyce, C.M. (Superior of Saint Mary’s of the Barrens Church/Apostle of Charity Residence) and Lynne Davis (Coordinator of the Center for Life in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri) spoke about the responsibilities of all Catholics to help preserve life. All those at the “Walk for Life’ were given the opportunity to sign the Association’s banner which is being carried by local youth in the annual “March for Life” in Washington, D.C. on January 22.

Winter Bulletin Newsletter

In this issue of the Winter Bulletin, Fr. Luke writes about a child who was born more than two thousand years ago who was destined to change the world, and how this compares to nurses viewing the way they serve the elderly.  He also writes about the time we spend watching television, riding in a car, eating, sleeping, and attending Mass every Sunday.  Guess which one we spend the least amount of time doing?  To learn about Year-End gifts, how you can sign up for the 2015 Spring Pilgrimage to Italy, or to request a new Christmas Votive Light card, read the Winter Bulletin. You may also send in your intentions to be remembered during the Christmas season.
