The Story of the Miraculous Medal Father Lukefahr's Weekly Reflections Share in Mary's Promise
The Blessed Virgin herself designed the Medal of the Immaculate Conception--popularly known as the Miraculous Medal! No wonder, then, that it wins such extraordinary graces for those who wear it and pray for Mary's intercession . . . In Loving Memory

Father Luke faithfully practiced what he preached, and his suffering has come to an end. Father passed away August 10, 2015, with family at his side. He was wearing his Miraculous Medal.

Note:  If you were not able to attend Father Luke's funeral service on Saturday, August 15, we will be having a rosary service "In Loving Memory" of him on September 18, at 11:30 a.m. CT.  It will be held at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Perryville, MO. You are invited to pray with us at that time, if you cannot attend.

What's New

Mary Shares your sorrow

The Miraculous Medal reminds us of Mary’s sorrows. Her heart, pierced with a sword, is near the thorn-crowned heart of Jesus.  The "M" is intertwined with the cross of Jesus.  Let’s ask Mary to help us join our sorrows to those of Jesus and to find peace and joy even in our sorrows. I invite you to join us at our Blessed Mother's Altar during the Our Lady of Sorrows Novena, beginning on September 7.  Read this prayer each day of the novena. We will remember you in these Masses, and your petitions will be placed near Mary’s Altar.  To read Fr. Luke’s message about our Lady of Sorrows, click here.

Mary’s Birthday – Send us your intentions

Our Blessed Mother cares deeply for you and intercedes with her Son on your behalf.  Did you know that her birthday is coming up?  It’s true, and to honor our Lady we will offer a novena of prayer beginning on her birthday, September 8.  Click here to submit your special intentions to be remembered at our Lady’s Shrine during the novena, September 8 – 16, and to request Votive Lights to burn.  Each of us needs prayer, and none is stronger than the intercessory prayer of our Blessed Mother.  When we, together as her children, offer her our united petitions, she hears and answers them.

Send your petitions and use our new Family Prayer card

In a few weeks the Holy Father Pope Francis will be in the United States to celebrate the Eighth World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.  At our Lady’s Shrine, we are collecting prayer intentions to be included in this historical event.  I invite you to send us your petitions so we can send them to Philadelphia for special remembrance in the Holy Father’s Papal Mass, September 27.  The Holy Father calls the family the “fundamental cell of society” and praises it as “beautiful, true, good, and indispensable for the life of the world.”  Family prayer isn’t always easy in today’s world, but it is necessary and possible by praying with humility and simplicity.  Use our new Family Prayer Remembrance card to carry out the Holy Father’s words, communicating the joy of faith.  Read Fr. Luke’s letter about the Holy Father’s view of the family.

Pilgrimage to Spain & Lourdes, France —“Letter to Lourdes”

Father Prudencio Rodriguez, C.M., Associate Spiritual Director, will be leading the Association’s fall pilgrimage to Spain and Lourdes, France, October 8-19, 2015. Father Prudencio will carry your name throughout the pilgrimage, and your intentions will be kept at the Shrine for remembrance in the Masses and prayers offered here.  You will be with the group in spirit everywhere they go, and you will be remembered in their prayers and Mass each day of the journey. To submit a “Letter to Lourdes” which will be placed at the very grotto where our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette in Lourdes, France, click here.   To read Fr. Luke’s letter about the upcoming pilgrimage, click this link.

Souvenir gifts of the pilgrimage are also available for you to order.  Follow the pilgrimage Mass schedule and recite the prayers on that page each day of the pilgrimage.  You can also follow the pilgrim journey through the Association on Facebook or Twitter.

There is still time to sign up to attend the pilgrimage to Spain and Lourdes, France.  For more information about this exciting and faith-filled journey, click here.

Carry our Lady to school

For many, school will begin in a few weeks.  Many emotions like excitement, nervousness, sadness, hope, doubt, and anxiety are felt by students and parents alike.  The single greatest thing you can do for any student is pray. The second thing you can do is give them a Miraculous Medal as a reminder of Mary’s love and protection.  Send a returning student our new “Back-to-School” Votive Light card.  You can also submit your intentions here for any student you know to be remembered in the prayers and Masses at the Shrine during the school year.  To request a “Backpack Mary Medal” as a gift for a loved one returning to school, click here to see more details and to place your order.  Read Father Luke's message about how Mary intercedes for parents, grandparents, and guardians, guiding all students just as she and Joseph saw to Jesus’ education.
